This place lives up to its name. Good draft beer specials and free popcorn. Chili was good. Lunch pollock special had generous portions, fish was good but fries so-so.

I love this place because it’s a bar style type restaurant and has keno but delivers a family setting, they have SO much too choose from you think of it I’m sure they serve it everything is delicious comes out pretty quickly with in 10 minutes. The southwest egg rolls where so tasty I had too have more I had to go back too try there homemade pizza and famous bread sticks as always did not disappoint prices are reasonable. I didn’t have any luck on keno but I love too play I’m not a drinker but I seen some good deals on cocktails and many people where ordering they have the tall draft cold glass beers also if your just wanting too get drinks they do have a bar side. A must try hidden gem. Clean bathrooms and restaurant, staff is friendly.

Always wanted to try this restaurant. Despite the ‘Cheap Charlie’ name, this was well done. We sat in back room, which reduced the noise level considerably! Great fish and chip dinner (with malt vinegar too), and nice battered shrimp. Would definitely stop here again!

Cheap Charlie’s truly deserves all the accolades. I have been coming here since the 1980s. They have consistently provided great food, at great prices, with tremendous service. The servers truly appreciate the tips they get and they work hard for them. This is one of Fort Gratiot/Port Huron’s best kept secrets. It is a like a local institution.

As it says in the title, the prices on the menu were not expensive! Food was good, and service was to. Nothing outstanding, but nothing was disappointing either.
One thing I’ll say is that their menu is huge! I believe it was six full pages of text.

If I could give 0 stars I would! I ordered dinner for take out, after working a long shift. 2 steak dinners, one with coleslaw and one with a side salad, and 2 orders of smothered cc sticks. After waiting 30 mins past the time I was told to pick up they walked out with all my food shoved into one bag. As I was walking out to my car I noticed a puddle of liquid on the bottom of the bag. I turned around and went back in to have my food put in another bag. They did the exact same thing, shoving 4 dinner sized to go boxes a small salad box and a coleslaw in one bag, smashing the boxes even more. I paid $72 to have most of my food ruined to the point of it being un edible. The ranch smothered cc sticks were in a puddle of steak juices. The coleslaw was completely split open and all over everything. My steak was smothered in onions and mushrooms, despite me not ordering it that way (huge dislike for mushrooms) after calling and speaking to a manager I was assured I would receive a portion of my charge back. I have not. So we basically paid $72 to throw away all but the steaks. No compensation. No correction. Just an empty promise of making it right. I understand it was Valentines day, I understand they were busy, but cramming 2 bags worth of food into one is unacceptable. They are Styrofoam containers they are clearly going to get smashed. Lets use some common sense. Expensive lesson learned. Cheap Charlie’s does NOT care about their customers

I’ve had a horrible experience here a few years ago that has made me weary about coming back. But let me tell you, they have 100000% redeemed themselves time and time again. I’ve been here multiple times in the last year and each time the food and service has been impeccable. Today just topped the cake with the service Joyce provided for my family of 6 today. She gave us all the tips for saving money on their deals they have each week for kids meals with us having such a big family. She also went above and beyond to make sure the kids food was cut smaller right from the kitchen so we weren’t stressing about it ourselves. It’s the little things like that that make a customers experience memorable.
Also, the last time I was here we got drinks and I had their Long Island flight and chose three different flavors and they were AMAZING. Highly recommend!

First time, chosen due to being seen while shopping. Great atmosphere with a wonderful smell that reminds you of a better time that hits you as soon as you walk thru the doors! As soon as I entered my eyes were caught with Cheap Charlie’s memorabilia that shows its roots in the community and how much they mean to everyone. My partner ordered the battered shrimp with a side salad (ranch) & fries while I ordered the Saturday special the “Tender Texan” (medium) with steamed broccoli and French Onion soup and two bread twists came with each of the meals as well. Drinks came out fast, with a half pitcher option for various long islands, as well as the soup and salad, and service was amazing and prompt. The whole meal was amazing and we plan on bringing our relatives back for a visit! Side note, the French Onion Soup is a MUST order for every visit.

Our server did a great job! The staff was really friendly. The French onion soup was really good! The steak was good, adding the mushroom and onions was a good choice. I liked how it wasn’t heavily seasoned. It was kind of loud. To be fair, it may have just been the large Birthday party people. Good experience!
