We ordered the chicken fajitas, chicken quesadillas, and beef steak, and all of the portions were very big. The serving size was definitely satisfying and good value for the money. The chicken fajitas came out hot and sizzling, with plenty of chicken, onions, and peppers. The vegetables looked fresh, especially the tomatoes, which added a nice bright flavor. The spice level was low, which was perfect because the food was flavorful without being overpowering. It makes the dishes enjoyable even for people who do not like very spicy food.
The chicken quesadillas were also very good, filled nicely and cooked well, with a good balance of chicken and cheese. They were simple, tasty, and comforting. The beef steak was another highlight. It was a good-sized portion and paired nicely with the sides. The mashed beans and rice had a traditional Mexican taste, which made the meal feel more authentic and satisfying. The sides were not bland; they had that homemade, classic flavor that goes well with the main dishes.
One thing that stood out was the freshness of the food. The tomatoes, pico de gallo, lettuce, and guacamole all looked fresh and appealing. The overall presentation was casual but appetizing, and the food came out looking hot and freshly prepared.
The staff service was also very good. Everyone was polite, attentive, and helpful, and the overall service made the dining experience more pleasant. It felt like a comfortable place where families and groups can come, enjoy a relaxed meal, and spend time together.
Another plus is the seating and parking. There is plenty of space to sit comfortably, and the restaurant feels suitable for both casual dinners and small parties. Ample parking is also a big advantage, making the visit convenient from the start.
Overall, La Bamba Mexican & Spanish Restaurant is a solid choice if you are looking for fresh food, large portions, traditional sides, mild spice, and a relaxed dining atmosphere. It is not fancy, but it is warm, casual, and dependable—exactly the kind of place that works well for an easy dinner outing or a laid-back celebration.
A couple of tips: (1) The restaurant gives one free serving of fresh chips and homemade salsa. (2) Happy hour is everyday from 3:00 – 6:00 with reduced prices on selct drinks.
The restaurant offers lots of parking and seating, cheerful decor, a bar, and a few Tvs throughout.
The Margaritas are great (better than most) and we believe they have happy hour from 3 to 6.
Chips and salsa (one mild and one spice) are free for the first round – $5.00 if you want more. We eat here frequently and find the salsa is inconsistent – sometimes chunky and sometimes watery. When it’s chunky, it’s great! We ordered the steak and shrimp fajitas – they didn’t ask how we wanted the steak cooked so it was moist and medium-well. Light on the shrimp (we got four). Veggies were great and the spice they use is on the salty side. It’s served with lettuce, tomatoes, pico, sour cream, cheese, quac and flour tortillas. More than enough for two people.
On previous visits we have had Carne Asada (excellent and beef would be cooked to your desire), Palomillia, fish tacos, flautas rancheros and everything was good.
Next time we go, we would try the taco dinners (ground beef looked amazing) and maybe some of the Spanish dishes.
The portions keep going down and down.
I ordered a fish taco dinner, beans and rice.
The sides were 2 tablespoons each with a tiny little bit of cheese on top and I could barely find any fish at all in one of the tacos and the other one had two very small pieces.
Sometimes I go into the restaurant. Last night, I used Uber eats. Five years ago, the soundtrack would’ve been around 16 or $17 fast-forward five years. It is now 22 Ish.
With the fee and the tip it was close to $30.
Rice and beans is not an expensive item. Why would they be so cheap with that?
As far as barely any fish on my taco? There was barely anything on my taco even the garnish was barely there. I felt like I was eating all dough. I really wished I had taken a picture. It’s a shame because you would’ve seen they were half filled.
I used to love this place, but not anymore.
The food was better, more plenty full and more affordably priced.
This is not the first time this is happened, But it is the first time I’m leaving a review.
They shouldn’t keep raising prices and giving less food. It’s not fair. Pretty sure nobody’s gonna wanna eat there anymore.
