Great food, great service, and great experience! This was our first time and everyone was super accommodating! The server suggested the cheese appetizer and it was better than I could have imagined! We enjoyed the filet for our main dish, which was cooked perfectly, and honestly the best steak we’ve ever eaten! It was tender, perfectly seasoned, and a generous portion. The dessert was a chocolate cake that had us drooling! When we got the bill we were actually pleasantly surprised! We typically share a meal and for what we got (2 alcohol drinks, appetizer, steak meal, and dessert) we felt is was very reasonable.

I’m glad I didn’t read any of the bad reviews before coming, it may have scared me away from one of the best meals we’ve had lately. So ignore those reviews and try this nice, upscale, local restaurant. For an additional bonus we got to meet the owner and chatted for a moment, he’s a super nice guy! We’re looking forward to coming back again, and bringing our friends!

Stopped back in for Burger and a Beer night. Amazing as usual.
Wife had the Green Chili Burger, and I had a cheese burger with jalapeños, and green and red hatch chili’s.

Decided to try the filet tonight. Got a filet on gnocchi with green chili alfredo sauce. And they did not disappoint with the seasoning and spice level. Amazing!

Wife got a baseball cut sirloin, with fries. Said it was amazing

We went back in for dinner… Wow the portions are even larger at dinner time. The salads were great, the Spicy Chicken Pasta was full of flavor, and the chicken fried steak was yummy and enough for four meals.

OMGs… Finally, found some properly seasoned food in Stephenville.

The benedict was the best we’ve had in a very long time.

The grits are actually seasoned, and so tasty.

The country breakfast was full of flavor. I love that I asked for the sausage to be well done, and it was just shy of being burnt (perfect). The biscuits and gravy were amazing!

This place is definitely a must visit, and we will be back many times I’m sure.

This was our second visit and we were there to celebrate my husband‘s birthday. First time we had an exceptional experience. This time not so much. They had a lady literally giving Botox injections right beside our table. We were incomplete shock. I don’t know in what world giving Botox injections in a restaurant filled with people is appropriate. My husband was literally facing them the whole time and completely grossed out. Ruined the experience. There was also a lady in the corner selling jewelry. Again inappropriate but not nearly as bad as the Botox.

On a positive note our server was wonderful and the food was good. But we just could not get over the Botox going on.

This is going to be a mixed review. Highlight was the jalapeno gravy on the chicken fried steak. We drove about an hour to get here and did not know the menu was going to be limited to the brunch menu. I was looking forward to a good steak. The wait staff was friendly but stopped by our table about every minute to ask if it was good. It became very annoying. I won’t say the food was bad it was just hmmm.

Amazing service and food was outstanding!! Would highly recommend, appetizers were full of flavor, meals came out perfect. Dessert was just as good as the main course. Normally don’t post, but I had to make an an exception.

We had excellent service and the food was very good. This is a location that touts the special verbally and doesn’t list prices for it. Personally I don’t like this as it led to a jaw dropper at the end.

My wife had steak and gnocchi and hers was excellent. I had the signature fried steak and it was huge and fried crispy. Yet it was quite bland and could have used seasoning. Overall a good value.

I expected expensive but $173.00 ($200 after tip) was quite the sticker shock for two people with one appetizer without alcohol or dessert. It also got really loud and made it hard to speak to my spouse without shouting.

This was my families first time in Chef Newton’s restaurant. To say we were amazingly impressed would be an understatement. The food was outstanding. By far the best chicken fried steak we’ve ever had and the ribeye steak was incredible. The staff did a bang up job and the atmosphere made the whole experience feel like a homily little restaurant with lots of character. Chef Newton was great and even took a picture with us to include Master Chief Junior contestant Shane the train that also works in the kitchen. Chef Newton even recommended the type of Bourbon to use in the Smoky old fashioned drink that I ordered. Just a great experience overall. Now that my daughter will be attending Tarleton starting in the fall it will provide an opportunity for my wife and I to come up and visit her and eat at Newton’s Saddleback restaurant many times to come!!!

For the price paid you would think a salad and bread would come with the steak. They also served cold mashed potatoes and vegetables. We have been to many restaurants that serve prime beef and this is our least favorite. It was mediocre at best. The chocolate cake was wonderful. The service was excellent and the restaurant has great atmosphere.

Celebrated our Anniversary there and had one the best dinners ever. The steak was perfectly cooked and the salmon was the best I’ve ever had. The flavor was amazing. Our server Brooke was so attentive and super sweet! Great service Brooke! It was a perfect dinner to celebrate us! Definitely recommend and we will be going back!
