Step back in time at The Cubbard, a classic drugstore lunch counter that first opened on October 1, 1969. Tucked under the burgundy awning in the back of the historic Cowan Drugs building on the square in Lebanon, Indiana, we’re a true dying breed. Today, The Cubbard is owned and operated by a local couple who got their start in the food truck business. We serve made-to-order American diner-style favorites, along with an occasional Honduran dish to share our family’s heritage. Come join us for daily homemade specials, desserts, floats, and a warm dose of Hoosier hospitality!

Absolute gem! Foods were fantastic, most welcoming atmosphere, it was just a superb experience! We were just passing by but had to stop because of their high reviews. These reviews were not lying! I went with five kids and three adults. Kids were more than welcomed, kids’ menu was very reasonably priced but excellent quality and quantity. Adult menu was great as well! I felt at home, I wanted to come back just for the experience. Thank you for

This little place is amazing! I took three young children for lunch and it was great! I had the famous tenderloin. It was even better than when I tried it six years ago! The seasoning was perfect and it was not greasy. The ingredients were high quality and fresh. The kids enjoyed the pebble ice in their drinks. The servers worked together to make the experience smooth and they were all knowledgeable of the menu. The atmosphere is comfortable and friendly. The restaurant and the bathroom are very clean! We will be back for sure! I highly recommend giving it a try!

This is a special little place – a hidden gem! It sits cozily in the back of a locally owned drug store on the square. We’ve been twice now: once for lunch and once for breakfast. Both meals were excellent with good value. I’ve had the Big Chuck and Patty Melt – very good!

The family that now runs the restaurant are very nice and welcoming, as well. Highly recommend trying this place out and supporting local small business.

Stopped here for lunch today. Known the owner for about a year now and finally had a moment. Got the fried chicken wrap with no lettuce. I love a place that offers cottage cheese. It’s my favorite food I swear. The warp was huge and delish and all the servers were so sweet.

How have I not had one of these tenderloins?! I’ve lived in Boone county for 7 years and just found this place. Food is excellent and so cheap.

The grilled tenderloins were 5 star all the way. I nice piece of lightly seasoned pork trimmed of fat and gristle. I like it a bit thicker but it was still delicious and still moist. A nice bun that held together. Add the toms and lettuce and it was a very good sandwich. The breaded tenderloin was a bit greasy. The pork is hand pounded and in some places was thick and juicy and other places too thin for the amount of breading. There were definitely some 5 start bites in there. The onion rings were really greasy. nice thick bits of onion. but could only eat 2 due to the greasiness. The fries were the frozen type but nice with a bit of crisp and soft and potatoey on the inside. Unfortunately everything was in styrofoam so lose half a point for not using something compostable.
