Absolutely delicious! The owners are very kind and the food is great, fresh, and competitively priced. I give it 5 out of 5 stars. Will be returning and telling my friends about it. Plus, while you wait for your sushi, you can shop the little mart that feels like a tiny piece of Japan right in Bethesda!

Definitely legit. Simple menu focused on sashimi and nigiri, and some other dishes/combos but the rolls are basic but very high quality, as with anything else on the menu.
I tried unagi and toro nigiri, the super toro sashimi, and a lobster salad roll. Everything was delicious, very fresh and well presented. Definitely returning to try more of the menu.
This is a part of a tiny Japanese grocery store, and it’s takeout only. They have a two seat sushi counter but they said they haven’t dine in since Covid.
Service was fine, just an odd experience walking in and the chef just stared at me as I asked about how to order, and if it was a language issue, there was no indication either way from him. The woman that ultimately came out was very friendly and communicative.

Very cute store with many items in a small footprint. We’ve been here for many years and just love how inviting it is. The sushi is freshly made to order and the store is authentically Japanese.

Looks a real japanese supermarket, however their sushi was so fresh and delicious. It’s not that cheap, but worth it. There is no seat inside it. All menu should be taken out. Also they’re selling so many japanese groceries (sometimes korean’s too). And decent real japanese product with good price. I like this kind of small store.

Legitimately amazing! The owners are so incredibly nice and welcoming. For such a small shop, they have a ton of variety of groceries and assorted goods! They even have a small skincare section.

We were too anxious to eat the sashimi and forgot to take a photos. Every piece of sashimi were super fresh and delicious. We ordered sashimi deluxe and added scallops and another fish as extra. Highly recommend the scallop sashimi, creamy! Will come back to order more.

The owners are so fake and false. They sell a dish called “Today’s Special” and claim that it has different sushi every day. Of course, no matter what day you order it, the sushi is exactly the same, and even if you ask them after you buy it, they won’t change it. The owners are truly scammers. Don’t spend money there.

Go no further for the best sushi in Bethesda. No gimmicky rolls with over-powering toppings or sauces, or outrageously large rolls that no one can swallow. Just good old authentic Japanese cuisine freshly made to order. Hinata is about well- balanced (aka not overly seasoned) sushi rice and really fresh fish made with care. It’s about celebrating one’s pride of one’s 出身 and share that love. If you want a real taste of Japan in Bethesda, this is the place to go. You can also pick up some amazing Japanese snacks while you’re there!

As a Japanese myself, this is a true mom and pop shop with authentic food! I got a futomaki and they were made right in front of me! The owners were so kind and helpful and the prices were amazing too! A lot of variety and actual snacks you would find in Japan!!

It is a small shop packed with all sorts of excellent Japanese foods and other items and they also have great fresh handmade sushi. It is run by a Wife and her Husband and they are super friendly and it really feels quite homey in there while also being a store. Lots of family mementos on the wall and usually some classical music on the speaker but you cannot help but want to keep going back there everything is really good and some stuff is even cheaper than other places (not everything) Take some time and look around you won’t be disappointed.
