Le Comptoir is a french restaurant and deli located in Aireys Inlet, Victoria. It was born out of Samuel Roig-Sclafer homage to his home town where he grew up outside of Bordeaux, France. “Le Comptoir” translates to “The Counter”, made prominent by the long serving counter in the shop, full of beautiful artisan cheeses and a unique selection of daily meats and charcuterie. “Do not forget Bordeaux,” says co-owner Sam Roig. Born in France with Catalan heritage Sam grew up surrounded by a culture rich in cheese, charcuterie and wine.

LOVED LOVED LOVED our experience here. The food was far beyond anything we could make at home, which is often the bar we set that rarely meets expection. This place is not the case. Would return again, again and again.

All three staff were lovely, even after squeezing us in at short notice on NYE. Will be recommending it to anyone that will listen.

Wow, wow, wow! We went for breakfast and the place was super busy. The service was great even though it was so busy and the food was 10/10. Really simple, good quality but great tasting food. Would highly recommend to anyone in town!

Stopped in for lunch and were delighted with great service and delicious food. Daily sandwich was on a perfect baguette and very good, cakes and quiches also delicious. And…pain au chocolate one of the best we’ve tasted outside of France! The “meals” were more than we needed but looked fabulous so worth a trip back! Owners also friendly and fun. Felicitations!

We stumbled upon this adorable French restaurant by chance. The ambiance was so relaxing. The music was great. The service was impeccable, and the food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend checking it out. Their coffee is also fantastic. I didn’t get a chance to try their croissants, but they looked absolutely scrumptious. I can’t wait to go back again soon!

Do yourself a favour and grab an almond croissant with a coffee on your Great Ocean Road trip. Great food, plenty of seating and delicious coffee.

When we (my mom) and I started our trip on the Great Ocean Road, we were convinced it wasn’t going to be a culinary experience as it was offseason and none of the guidebooks said anything specific about the food. So we decided to blindly walk into the first place that presented itself and were absolutely and pleasantly surprised! I can say that this was some of the best (if not the best) French food I’ve ever had – the French onion soup in particular is to die for. It also doesn’t hurt that the young staff are adorably nice and helpful. We went there a second time on the way back, and if life ever brings me back to Victoria, it will be on my list. <3 love from austria

Both the breakfast and the lunch/dinner menus are fantastic.
The atmosphere is fun, cosy and unmistakably French.

I did unfortunately have a slightly uncomfortable experience the first time I visited this place — one of the waiters rudely laughed at me while i tried to order.

On all following occasions I have been pleased to find the service and friendliness flawless.
This is now my favourite place for breakfast on the great ocean road!

What made this little place stand out was the service from young French server. He was absolutely brilliant and warm. We had a relaxing lunch with our teenage kids today and we loved it. Stand out for me was the cheese and the terrine. Beef bourguignon had great flavours and the carrots purée was delicious too. Little things to work on would be the glassware. My wine glass had bit of smell that could have been avoided with good clean and a polish. But that was the only concern for today. We will be back!
