Came back 1yr later food still delicious. Catfish fried just right golden brown and seasoned to perfection topped with a poached egg. Jumbo Shrimp and grits had me speechless. Jumbo pineapple mimosa. My server Bre was 5stars alone. Great customer service very attentive.

This was a great place for breakfast. Blueberry pancakes were great. I truly enjoyed the fluffy inside and the burst of each blueberry with every bite. And the pineapple mimosa was great. Our server was friendly and fast. The atmosphere was lovely. Beautifully decorated. Be sure to bring cash or there’s a charge for using your card. Not a lot but just a heads up. We went around 9 am to beat the crowd and the ENTIRE menu is available all day, no matter if you want pancakes and bacon or fried wings and fries they are ready for you. Kinda small but they get you in quickly. We didn’t feel rushed at all. Two thumbs up gone me.

We decided to try out a local spot only about a mile from the house… The disappointment is real. We have never been so we try to each get different things to sample a variety. We waited a while for food. The French toast was okay… needs something for sure…. Pancakes were very dark and lacking flavor overall. The country gravy for the country fried chicken is surely out of a can. The side of toast you receive with that combo comes under the chicken and cover in gravy. Grits are unseasoned and no one comes back to the table so you can get at least some butter. I order my eggs over medium they came out over easy… but they did fix that. Potatoes were needing seasoning and they are mush. The biggest problem here is the complete lack of urgency. We watched our food and everyone else’s die in the window. The guys in the back are putting it up and constantly ringing the bell for the waitstaff and who I assume was the owner to walk past it time after time. Please don’t order the coffee…. We watched almost every table be sat and no drive to turn them over. We waited 15 minutes to be asked if we were ready for the check after our plates were taken. They don’t give you a check to review… you just have to trust you are getting what you paid for. I was interested in seeing about these extra fees everyone is talking about in other reviews. No paper receipts offered.

My daughter and I found time to meet for breakfast and decided to try Yoolks on us on Portsmouth Blvd. We walked in and felt warm and welcomed. We were met by our waitress Makayla who arrived with fresh water, a smile and the best personality. We loved the quality and quantity of the food. The service from our waitress and other staff members is what screams great customer service. The music was top tier. The vibe was perfect. I would rate 10/10 to anyone. Thank you Makayla and everyone.

What a great little diner! Great food and terrific service.
The manager was on the floor right beside the servers and busses, and they were all really good!
I got the Meat-lover’s Omelet and my wife got the steak & eggs.
Both were really good.
We’ll certainly be back!

Well, I decided to try this place on my day off for a to go order, while waiting I read the reviews. I checked my receipt, and there is a charge for to go orders of $1.99 plus the credit fee $4.99, which I saw after I paid for my order.
The sever seemed nice. I gave her $6 tip before I received my food or ate the food . I also ordered to go drink which was not ready when my food was, which is when I asked about my drink I was told they were out of what I ordered I had to choose something else and wait longer for it to be made. So started the disappointment .
Food was 5/10 my French Toast was a slice short. According to the menu, it’s 3 slices unless the menu needs to be undated. I’d recommend the salmon cakes they were good, my potatoes were lightly seasoned but a lil heavy on the black pepper and not shredded cheese but square piece of cheese not my preference. But hey I’d recommend coming if want to support a local business…. Oh, definitely check your receipt charges may be different.

My first time was yesterday and sadly I must say, I will not be returning. I thought it was a bit high, but now I see a previous comment about automatic gratuity, if this is true I added another $5…on the door it says gratuity added to large parties. I should’ve taken a picture to post.
Food was not as expected. I ordered French toast supreme. The description says strawberries, bananas or blueberries but I only got strawberries. The bread was thin sandwich bread. The potatoes tasted like they were fried in old grease.
My BF ordered chicken fried steak but the gravy looked and tasted like it was made with the same grease as the potatoes. He had to ask for a coffee refill and it was cold. He went in the men’s room to find a toilet seat that didn’t fit the tank.
On a positive note, the decor was bright and cute.

During our visit (around 1:00pm on Sat, Nov. 8), a young lady at the table of five became disruptive. She stood up, loudly summoned a staff member, and complained about service and then the food. We watched the team respond calmly and offer solutions, but she refused to pay (which was the goal) and left. The rest of her group stayed and paid their tabs.
I’m noting this to highlight how well the staff handled a difficult situation. This place is a gem—highly recommend.

So good! Keyona was an amazing server and so sweet! I had the Cornbread beef hash and grits, my wife had the Red Velvet Pancakes which she LOVED. So excited to be somewhere where the grits were cooked correctly!
