I’d heard great things about this place, so we stopped in for something to eat. Overall, the service was solid and our food came out fast. We ordered the crab rangoon, chicken Pad Thai, and a bowl of pho. The rangoon were good, the pho was really flavorful, but the pad Thai was pretty average and the flavor and noodles felt flat. We ordered a spice level 6 and it did have a nice kick. They had a ton of DoorDash and takeout orders going out, so it’s clearly a popular spot. It just wasn’t as good as people hyped it up to be, but I’m still glad we tried it. Next time I’ll try something different. Worth a stop out, but better Pad Thai out there.

I went to Salween Thai on a Friday night, and most tables were taken. It took a couple of minutes for us to be sat down, and another 25 for us to get drinks and to order. Service was slow. However, I offer them grace due to how good the food was. It was like nothing I had ever tasted before. I ordered the coconut chicken soup with a spice level of seven out of ten. My nose was running, but it wasn’t overwhelming. I would highly recommend Salween Thai to anyone looking for great Thai food.

Went here with my Fiancé after he returned from Thailand. He knew exactly what he wanted to get and they had it all. We were greeted at the door with a smile and were soon taken to our table. The staff member who took our order was receptive, helpful, and friendly. The food was brought to our table in a short amount of time after we ordered. It all looked amazing and tasted incredible! I will definitely be returning soon for more!

Food – The only words I can use to describe it are positive, it is by far the best Thai place I’ve been too, all things I ordered and that were ordered by my group were absolutely amazing, the options on your spice level, everything about it was amazing, my pad Thai was delicious and I had absolutely no critiques. My dish has a large main course helping, along with a generous portion of bean sprouts, and I also got a Thai Tea, the bean sprouts were delicious and the Thai Tea is the best drink I’ve had in a long time! It was very affordable for Thai food and very fairly priced for the serving size, my meal was $13 with a $2 charge for shrimp, and my drink was $5. Overall an amazing meal and I can’t hype it up enough!

Service – Very good! Our server was fast, friendly, and very helpful on recommending dishes, she was quick to answer any questions we had about the food and ingredients.

Atmosphere – Lovely, it was quiet with some nice music in the background, people used lower voices, the employees weren’t yelling or anything, and just the aesthetic was beautiful. Even if the food wasn’t delicious I’d consider coming back just for the building!

I tried Salween Thai for the first time earlier this year – I got takeout for lunch. I chose Salween because I was excited to see they had pineapple fried rice on their menu – it lived up to my expectations, LOVED it!! I have been back several times since then for both lunch and dinner. I have never eaten at the restaurant (only takeout). Even with getting the food to go, it is still always fresh and hot once I’m ready to eat. Delicious! I chose Chicken with the pineapple fried rice, but you can also choose beef, pork, shrimp or tofu.

I also really enjoyed the samosas – and also liked the fried wontons (the fried wontons came with a translucent yellow sauce – I did not try the sauce but I was expecting the same red sweet & sour type sauce that comes with the samosas).

We recently tried the mango fried rice with chicken as well. This was also great! I could not see the mangos, but the taste was definitely there. (I felt there could have been a little more chicken – I could only find a couple very small pieces, while the pineapple fried rice had lots!)

As for spice level, if you don’t like spicy go with a zero! I like mild to medium spice and a 3 had me sweating a tiny bit. Spice level 4 was good, but would not be my go to everytime. But good news if you like things spicy, they go up to spice level 10 (which I can’t imagine).

So glad I tried Salween!! I will definitely continue order from here!

We ordered three entrees and had mango sticky rice for dessert. I ordered one item from the Vietnamese menu, but prefer items off the Thai menu. The food was delicious and the service was great! food came out in an orderly fashion and the service staff was very friendly, we will surely be back!

Last night my bestie and I came in for dinner. We had a wonderful experience, the restaurant was shockingly empty for most of our experience. Their menu is largely Thai Based but they do offer some Vietnamese specialties as well such as Pho, Banh Mi and Vermicelli Bowls as well.

The food was magnificent and we definitely were warmed up by it on the chilly night last night. We had the Khao Soi, Grilled Beef Salad with some Rice Ball sausages. The Khao Soi ( Coconut Chicken Noodle Soup) I got at a spice level of 5. It has tender pieces of Chicken, wonderfully sour mustard greens to break up the richness of the crave worthy coconut broth and fresh red onions and crispy noodles on top and at the bottom of all this delicious is a wonderful nest of tender rice noodles.
The Grilled Beef Salad is a wonderful delight of sour, sweet and spicy while also being incredibly savoury with the tender pieces of Grilled Beef. We got this a spice level of 5 as well and thoroughly enjoyed it. The spice played nice with the toothsome rice powder sprinkled across the dish, and mingled well with the fresh cilantro, mint and also the red and green onion and seasoned with a spicy lime dressing. All of these things may sound out of place but upon tasting you’ll find your tongue is being played a perfect symphony of flavours that just continue to build the more you eat it.

The rice ball sausages were delicious but always perplex me in a way that always makes me want them again and again. Tender sausage combined with noodles and wrapped in a chewy rice paper with a slightly peppery bite to them from the seasonings, but in no way spicy. Try them and you’ll find yourself wondering where they all went.

Overall we can’t wait to come back for another delightful experience, but if it’s cold or you need your Thai fix. Salween is my favourite place to start at and I can’t wait to explore and experience the rest of the menu.

Ordered take out including the Thai soup, we were told 1 hour wait time to pick up.. that was fine… I showed up to pick up the order 1 hour later, paid and tipped 20%, then was told at the counter that they could not make the soup due to a failed burner. Nobody called to tell us or anything, and didnt say anything until after I paid and tipped.. I asked for a different dish to replace the soup and was told no problem, they would get it ready asap.. 30 minutes later I asked what was going on and how much longer.. I was told the kitchen forgot to prepare any of the order and were trying to get it done…. Absolutely terrible service and communication. I feel like they lied to get payment and tip then decided to tell me about the mistake.. had I know the order was never started 1 hour after placing it I would have went somewhere else.. I won’t be returning..

Friendly and nice servers. Food was delicious and good value. Originally it was Fusion Taste restaurant now it is called Salween Thai (serving both Thai and Vietnamese cuisine). For Vietnamese menu make sure you ask the server to give you a separate menu specifically for that. The new owner redecorated the restaurant, it looks nice and modern. Highly recommend trying it.
