I visited this today evening. Seeing the google reviews I thought food would be good. Ordered a chicken Biryani. It seems the biryani was a day old, microwaved by spilling water. Biryani rice swollen as it was refrigerated and then microwaved. I just had little and couldn’t eat the rest. Chicken pieces were very hard to bite. Besides food, hospitality isn’t that great. Restaurant ambience inside is okay. Considering the food quality, I’ll not visit this place again. Thanks.

Finally a decent Indian food restaurant in the area. The restaurant is neat and simply decorated. The service was attentive, but it wasn’t the fastest. There was a little bit of a wait for our food, which i don’t normally mind, but with 2 kids it started to feel a lot longer. We arrived and it was empty, but 15 minutes later, it was about 1/3 full so I can understand why the service slowed down a bit. One other thing of note, there is parking in the back.

As for the food, the serving sizes were on par with other Indian food restaurants. The flavors were good, but seemed a little lacking to me. I really love bold flavors and i felt like the food may have been toned down a bit for the local clientele. Other than that, i really the meal. We ordered the butter chicken, lamb korma, garlic naan, and a mango lassi. Best mango lassi we’ve had in awhile. Garlic naan was really good. No skimping on the garlic there. I hifhly recommend herting naan to soak up the leftover sauce from the main dishes.

For an area lacking some ethnic cuisine, Grill and Curry is a nice change from the established restaurants in downtown Berkley. I can only hope that this is the beginning of a trend where new restaurants with ethnic cuisines can thrive in a small city that is beginning to become more diverse and as it tries to bring more life to the downtown corridor.

had lunch there today and found it excellent. The waiter was very attentive and the food was great. I had med spicy butter chicken with onion pakora and a nan. I would reccomend this place… Their sign is not up yet and parking in the rear with entrance there also made it convenient

Good Indian food. I appreciate the vegan options listed on the menu, which makes it a little easier to order. The samosas were not my favorite, but everything else was good. My dish had a good amount of spice and flavor. I do wish the naan were vegan, but they do have butter.

Our favorite spot for take out Indian cuisine. A wide variety of dishes, very well prepared. We ordered online and picked up 20 minutes later. You can choose spice level. Portions are large. We actually had enough for 2 dinners. A great value.

Everyone here is so kind. The best palek paneer in the city! The portions are extremely ample and my husband loves the butter chicken. Actually, I do as well. I have a hard time choosing but I really just love this dish although I am not vegetarian. They are hard workers, and the food is always delicious, hot, and properly fulfilled. The price point is very fair as well! I love Grill & Curry!

I think this place is fine by American standards & probably caters to that palate. Don’t think most Indian peeps would be into it.

Ordered seekh kabob & it was cooked in a sweet sauce…that was a first. Also had onion bhaji which was good — the mint & tamarind chutney were a little off tasting.

Overall, don’t think I’d order again.

I’m not sure why some of the folks on here are so disappointed- we greatly enjoyed the food! The naan and mango lassi were some of the best I’ve ever had.

The entrees themselves were very good, but the flavors were a little different than what we’ve previously had. I wonder if the style or origin of recipes is a little different than most Indian places.

Regardless, the food was great and service was fantastic. We will be eating here again for sure!

The waiter was so sweet and friendly! I give him 5 stars! However…we went for the food and it was the worst Indian food I’ve ever had. I grew up eating Indian food courtesy of my best friend’s amazing mother, and have eaten at many restaurants all over metro Detroit. The samosa appetizer was yummy…but they served it with the 2 sauces that raised my eyebrows. Instead of the sweet brown sauce they had “mostly turmeric with ketchup” per the amazing waiter. It tasted exactly as you’d expect… pure regret. The green pureed sauce was unlike the others I’ve had and that’s not a compliment. Then my vegetable korma and his butter chicken arrived. The veggies in the korma weren’t potatoes, cauliflower, and the other regular crew. It was mostly large chunks of carrot…in a sauce that was almost the color I expected but it had the consistency of ketchup! It didn’t taste good but I was hungry so I ate about half. His butter chicken was tough and the sauce was thick like….you guessed it… ketchup! Both dishes smelled unappealing. Thankfully I ordered the “rice pudding” for dessert based on the picture. Why didn’t they call it Kheer? Maybe they are just learning this cuisine, the ingredients, and the names. However, Kheer was incredible! I ordered it to go but figured I should try it in case it was terrible because I would have left it on the table. While I enjoyed my dinner pudding, I took in old dirty carpet, walls that begged to be painted, and the ring camera pointed at you while you eat in the dining room. I expected to be on candid camera and have a C list celebrity surprise me after the main course.

When we walked out I was reminded why we went in..the smells were incredible! I should have said “I’d like to eat the smells in your parking lot please.” There are few Indian restaurants in this area so I started with this one. Save yourself $40 and learn from our mistake.

We haven’t dined at this address for 30 years, since it was Passage to India. Our experience back then was marginal at best, but Grill and Curry hit a home run in our opinion. Not only were the people running the place incredibly nice, but our food was quite excellent. I would definitely recommend it to others.
