I love the atmosphere this place even on Thanksgiving day. Started with chips and salsa and some sweet tea, then finish it up with a Patron Steak. The sauce was a chunky style and delicious.

My family absolutely loves this place! Great service and wonderful food! We usually get the street tacos. They serve authentic Mexican dishes that are amazing.

It was our first time dining at El Patron but it will not be our last. The service was remarkable, we were greeted and seated almost immediately. The place was packed but lively and enjoyable. The servers are kind, helpful and fast. Everyone ordered something different so we were able to sample more of the menu. The guacamole casada is heavenly! We all had to take go-boxes home there was so much food left over. I ordered the Pechuga Mexicana and it was everyone’s favorite. The tamales were a bit dry but my daughter did opt to forgo the red sauce. Overall we had a great time, ate authentic Mexican food in a colorful and vibrant atmosphere.

Sorry, but after a roach climbed down the wall and tried to climb to the table, I was no longer interested in their food.. yes, I smashed it and took it to the manager on duty, while it was still moving..I know most places have bugs, but I felt like it was too comfortable climbing down the wall right next to me.. ‍♀️

Waiter was slow. Didn’t bring stuff when told 2 other were coming. No napkins or silverware for 3 minutes after food served. No extra chips or salsa brought for bigger group. Ordered a Chile Relleno and got a stuffed bell pepper. Burrito was smaller than tamale. It’s a nicely decorated place.

Last time I ate there the food was great, hot and economical. I suspect that many of these larger Hispanic restaurants may buy special packaged meals and heat them, especially the lunch specials. I usually order these specials when I go into a Hispanic restaurant and meals are very similar. The food here was very good and I thought the serving was larger than other restaurants. The service was great and the atmosphere was a delight of colors to set a real Mexican atmosphere. I would certainly recommend them. Pre-lunch chips and salsa are always good.

My new FAVORITE place for Cocktel de Cameron (not on the menu, but you MUST try it) AND queso dip with chorizo!!! Embarrassed to say, but didn’t know they were over there by Walmart for the past 4 years!! I had been driving to Trussville! So happy to know now that it’s El Patron over in that corner by Springville Walmart!!! Alex Vincente, the host, even remembered me the 2nd time I went in for my 2 favorites to go! The staff are all so friendly! LOVE this place!!!

I took my brother out to lunch for his 69th birthday. The service was not very good, they could not understand what we were asking for. We had no silverware, no napkins, had to ask twice for them. I ordered a fajita, not only did it not come out sizzling, it was just barely warm. The best part about a fajita is the nice hot sizzling meal. We mentioned that it was his birthday, and they did not even acknowledge that. It’s just common courtesy to say happy birthday to someone on their day.
Service was not good, not very courteous, and food not the greatest. Definitely not worth $38.

I’ll preface this with I’m rarely one to complain about food. If I order something and it’s wrong, I’ll eat it 9/10 times.

I ordered combination #10, I was supposed to get burrito, taco, w/ rice and beans. Instead I got whatever this is meant to be (this was the photo I took after it was set down, I hadn’t even had a bite mind you). I politely informed the waitress that my meal wasn’t what I ordered. She was kind and apologetic and said she’d go and check. She came back and informed me what I ordered wasn’t #10 (which I’m sure that’s the number I said as that’s what I get when I have eaten here) and that it didn’t come with rice and beans and couldn’t even tell me what the food I had before me was supposed to be. I tried to be nice but a little more firm but then was looked at like I was stupid so I told her “It’s fine, I’ll eat it.”

I took one bite and immediately almost spit it out. It smelled and tasted like dog food. I paid, tipped the waitress, and left.
