AWESOME ITALIAN FOOD – The FILET IS BETTER than Ruth’s Crisps!!

*** THIS IS MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT *** (and THIS is a HONEST REVIEW from an actual frequent customer!)
I moved to Alabama almost two years ago – and I have eaten quite frequently at Castelluccio… (Shame on me for taking this long to leave a review!) EVERYTHING I’ve tried here, from the steak to the lasagna… the pasta – OMG the Alfredo sauce is AMAZING… the ingredients are top shelf and fresh and deliciously prepared – EVERY TIME.
Try the gluten-FREE pasta – It’s AMAZING – You’d never know it’s gluten-free…
and the FILET… OH MY!!! Move over Ruth’s Crisps… Castelluccio has you beat on the filet… YES!!! It’s that good!
AND… The people at Castelluccio are really nice!!! They are ALWAYS friendly, and warm, and they make you feel so welcomed! It’s been that way for me, from the very first time I visited, and EVERY time after that. (which is a lot!)
Please, take it from someone who has eaten there at least 2-3 times a month, every month for the past two years… (and I’m not an easy critic) … It is consistently wonderful, consistently delicious! CASTELLUCCIO IS MY FAVORITE ITALIAN RESTAURANT – in – Alabama.
Some might say their prices are high, but good grief… I think the prices are very reasonable (look at the economy) and consider what you get!! .. They are – VERY – GENEROUS with their portions… (bring your appetite, or you’ll be taking some home!) and did I say they use only the best ingredients?! And that they make their sauces from scratch?
So, I HAVE to leave a review… TRY THEM … I bet that if you love Italian cuisine like I do, this will become one of your favorite places, too!

The food was amazing and our server was the absolute best. We had around 30 people there for an after wedding rehearsal dinner and our server Heaven was doing an absolutely phenomenal job. She was pretty much serving everyone BY HERSELF!!! Absolutely incredible seeing one person do that and never giving us bad service. Did it with a smile on her face and never complain even though she was definitely exhausted. Would recommend and would go again!! Thank you Heaven!!!

This is an excellent Italian restaurant with an exceptional good and moderately priced wine list. Best lasagna I’ve ever had. The Caesar salad was also delicious with a wonderful delicate homemade dressing. Service was good and the place was already packed by 6 pm. Make reservations.

My wife and I were looking for something different and found this place 35 minutes from home. They posted a Thursday lunch from 11:00-1:00. We arrived at 11:30 only to find the doors locked. We rechecked the website and it claimed to be open. I hope that this was poor advertising management and not an emergency.

We made a stop in this little town on our trip to Florida and I may have to say this might be the best restaurant we went to. I had the Roasted Chicken Mushroom Risotto and it was the most deliciously seasoned Risotto I’ve ever had.
What really surprised me was the quality you’d expect from a fancy place in a big city, but in this unassuming little spot. The staff were friendly and welcoming too, making the whole experience feel even more special.
If you ever find yourself anywhere near this town, make the stop. It’s the kind of food that makes you want to plan your next trip around coming back. Truly a hidden gem.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Food is top notch with a great atmosphere. Portions are not small by any means. Wine list is better than expected! My wife and I went for our 9th wedding anniversary. We have found our new regular place! Thank You to the all the staff and the owner who was walking through welcoming everyone!
