I would give this place 4.5 stars. The sandwiches were delicious. I wanted to try some of the other stuff they offer at the deli, but nothing was labeled. You have to either guess based on the menu or ask somebody who works at the deli. However, the employees at the deli seemed busy and not very personable, so I didn’t feel able to ask more than one question. There was a line when I walked in at about 5 PM, so you may have to wait depending on when you go. There were so many options and also kind of an atmosphere of needing to order quickly, so I’d suggest having an idea of what you want to order in advance.
There’s a board of different pre-made sandwich options, but you can also design your own sandwich. They sell soup, salad, chips, etc. as well. I didn’t like that the low-fat sandwich was named “The Skinny.” That type of diet culture nonsense and stereotyping of fat people is completely unnecessary. I didn’t try their baked goods section, but they do have baked goods.
There’s two cramped tables inside and I think one table outside, but I’d suggest just buying your food as takeout. The rest of the store was very interesting. They seemed to sell a lot of local goods and Maryland-themed items. You can also buy some foods that looked imported, like German chocolate. I thought these sardine-designed chocolates were a cute idea. The store itself is very cramped and probably not an easy place if you have kids who could mess with fragile items on sale or need space for a mobility device.
I feel this would be a good store to buy unique presents or maybe take a friend to who’s visiting the DMV from out of town. Some of the items were so unique that I even found the delicious pretzel snack given for free on Southwest Airlines flights that I’ve never seen sold in a store before.
Prices varied, some stuff expensive and some stuff not. Besides the local goods and seemingly imported foods, they also sold alcohol and some popular food brands. There’s a big, free parking lot outside. However, the parking lot was crowded when I was there and difficult to navigate.

It’s an old deli style liquor store also selling basic groceries and run for 50 years now. An historic institution which has it’s charm. But tends to be overpriced compared to Safeway across the street. Sandwiches are good but not amazing and a bit pricy, hence 4 stars. Worth an extra trip? No. But definitely works for a quick bite when you are around anyway. Staff is friendly.

It’s a solid deli ! Corned beef king has the edge over here for the Reuben but it’s still a good sandwich. You can get cake and all sorts of other things here. I liked visiting.

Nice deli! The sandwiches could be a tad bigger but they are pretty good otherwise! Like coming here after my pharmacy visits next door.

“Deli” means “crazy” in Turkish. This deli is crazy good. It is so good we go here at least twice a week. A few of my favorites are the spicy Italian sub, Johnny Blue sandwich, turkey breast with cranberry sauce sandwich, egg salad (which is superb), the unbelievable artichoke and hearts of palm vinaigrette salad, the curry chicken salad which carries me away. The one disappointment was the rare delicacy, beef tongue. I love beef tongue but their version was a bit dry. Chef, I highly recommend you create some kind of sauce or spicy chutney to enhance it. The staff is incredible, helpful, accommodating and professional. And let’s not forget the ladies at the checkout counter. They are extremely friendly and kind. Happy New Year, see you tomorrow.

Hole in the wall deli and grocery store. A real find. Authentic sandwiches. Wide selection of craft brews. Would recommend for a quick bite at reasonable prices.

I purchased an order on DoorDash and mistakenly placed it for pickup instead of delivery. Just seconds after I placed the order I realized the mistake. I immediately called the store (per instructions from DoorDash) WELL before the order was prepared. After 3 unanswered calls, on the 4th attempt to call, I was placed on hold for 15+ minutes. I spoke to a rude and dismissive customer service representative who told me it’s not the store problem and the order was already made. To make it more insulting he then hung up on me!
I am incredibly disappointed with the way I was treated. Regardless of how busy the store was, I expected to be treated with respect and offered assistance. I will NEVER be ordering from this store again!

A note from a friend:
I have been coming to your store for over 28 years. Lovely people, courteous and helpful staff and always great sandwiches. Today as usual ordered my favorite Mozzarella and tomato sandwich. To my surprise for first time the baguette was very old and chewy. I know by my long time experience you always have fresh begets, but the one I got it was at least few days old.
Your long-time customer, Thank you for serving our community for long time.
