We stopped in for our first time at 7:40 last night after a basketball game. They close at 8:00, so I asked to make sure they were still serving before seating ourselves. The waitress was super friendly. All of our food ( fish dinner and hamburger steak dinner) were amazing and we never once felt rushed. We will definitely be back when in the area.

AWESOME handmade hamburger-a two-handed burger, fresh, hot……Onion rings were great. Lots of menu options and homemade pies every day! Will be back to try the desserts…. Was too full to get one this time!

A great hometown café with heart-warming dishes and fantastic daily specials. Get fried chicken, meatloaf, burgers & fries, salads, and soups. Breakfast (served until 10:30 AM) is what everyone expects from grandma’s kitchen! Omelets, pancakes, biscuits & gravy, or a delicious breakfast sandwich are always on the menu! And you can’t forget homemade desserts!!!

Just recently Mel’s Diner was purchased by someone else and now has a new management. It’s now called April”s. They offer good home comforting food. They are worth a visit when you are in the area

Mel’s Dinner is as much of the Puxico Homecoming as the square dancing. Love the home-cooked meals. Pies are incredible.
