We stopped in for a bite to eat while wheeling and were happy we did! 3 of us had the Patty Melt and one had Chicken Strips. Everything was delicious and the service was great too!
We are VERY happy to have another option near the trails we ride, and are happy to support them!
So I was heading to Hibbing so I researched good places with a good burger –my go to food, and stumbled upon the highway 5. I called to verified their hours hours and a week later on my way home I took the route to what I will call “Deliverance”.
When I arrived, I was the only one driving a street legal vehicle… the parking lot was littered with quad’s and side by sides but no trucks or cars. There were lots of people on the patio, and there was a pickup truck with a bale of rotting straw in the bed that looked like it had been sinking in the grass for a few decads… I think that it was an attempt at a decoration or perhaps it was a way to keep impared drivers from cutting the corner… either way it should have warned me as to what was about to come.
When I walked in I thought i’d stepped into the twilight zone. The decore looked like something that you would find in some backwards place down in the South, not in northern Minnesota.
The waitress promptly brought me the menu which i told here just a burger and fries, which if I remember were about $20. There wasn’t much to report about the burger or the fries, as there wasn’t much of either.
The best thing about the burger was there a grill mark on the bun, fries were barely cooked.
Don’t bother asking for the wifi password as the waitress had to find it (on a card burried in a pile of bric a brac) and its so long no one could accurately imput it on a mobile device without several corrections…and the connection i got was intermittent and unusable.
I’m sure that some will like the environment, but it certainly wasn’t my cup of tea.
Rated
Food: 2 stars as portion was small for price and fries were below par
Service: Waitress would have got 4 stars except for not getting the wifi password and I had to go to the counter and ask another employee for and for it and it wasn’t easily visable or simplified.
Atmosphere: 1 star previously explained.
