The one star is for the fried okra — it was actually really good. I don’t eat meat, so I can’t comment on those dishes, but I did try the veggie plate and I honestly wouldn’t recommend it. Aside from the fried okra, the sides just weren’t good at all, even the corn bread muffin and I don’t even understand how you mess that up ♀️

We ordered a Trainwreck (pictured) which I only was able to eat about 1/3 of. It is HUGE!! We also ordered the rib plate. The ribs were well seasoned but only 2 of the ribs were tender. The rest were a little tough and chewy. We plan to go back to try more items and maybe even give the ribs another go.

In all the times I’ve been going to Thorton’s for the past 2, maybe 3 years , I have no complaints about the food. I always order a slab of their ribs for my family or when I have a craving for them. Reminds me of our ribs back home, especially when they just season it and don’t add anything else on it. It does come with the sauce, but we like them just the way they are. I would either have my husband or grandsons cook rice on our rice cooker before I get home with the ribs because that’s how we enjoy eating them. Lately, I’ve been ordering just a half slab because now the family is either not there to enjoy it with us, or they just don’t want any. But guess what? On the times I’ve ordered half slab of ribs, they want to eat ribs. I told them if there’s any left. This is my opinion of how I love their ribs, and I’m sticking to it. The young, I think her name is Jackie (hope I got her bame right), who takes my order knows me when I call to place my order. She is awesome. She is very courteous, professional, sweet, and always has a smile for her customers both on the phone or in person. Thank you, Thornton’s BBQ, on Seale Road for great food and customer service.

DANG!!!! We have been here for six months and we are foodies. This has been the best BBQ meal we have had so far. The ribs were on point, the pork was on point, the wings were on point and yes the collards, bean, Mac were fantastic. We will definitely be back and we will be bringing our friends and family here when they come and visit. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Omgggggg y’all!!! Words cannot describe how mouthwatering the food is here!!! Everything is great!! The ribs are my go to though!!! I always start off by ordering at least 3 whole slabs!!! The overall service is wonderful and prompt. This is a must go to for barbecue!!! Not only the meats, but the sides are just as good as well! A Must try if visiting here in the Phenix City/Columbus area!!!!!

The food here is DELICIOUS! This is now our favorite spot! The best BBQ place! Ribs, chopped BBQ, and chicken wings are on point!!!! Portions are just the right size and price is very reasonable especially with how good this food tastes!
