Juanita Cantina did not disappoint! The Carnitas Cantina Tacos were delicious, and the house margarita was the best I’ve had in months. Say what you want, but when I’m in a Mexican restaurant and the entire staff is speaking Spanish, I know I’m in the right place! Plus, their Happy Hour deals are unbeatable. Highly recommend!

I normally get photos as new places, but I was too busy catching up with a girlfriend. I ordered a cup of tortilla soup and side of guac, along with a Cadillac margarita. The soup was a generous size for a cup. This was the best tortilla soup I’ve ever had! Maybe I got lucky, but there was a ton of chicken and the broth was excellently seasoned. I loved the guacamole with the chips, too. The margarita was good, but kind of small for $15 and house liquor. Service was great. My friend had the nachos and said they were awesome bc the chips are thick, so there weren’t any mushy ones on the bottom.

Our local cantina may not be a one-way ticket to Mexico, but it’s our weekly tradition and we couldn’t be happier. This isn’t a place that relies on flashy gimmicks or a hyper-authentic facade. Instead, it’s a spot that earns its stripes through solid food, a clean space, and a staff that treats you like family once they get to know you.
It’s been a few different restaurants over the last decade, but this current version is, without a doubt, the best. With a great happy hour and being only a block away, it’s become our go-to spot.
Our usual order is the carnitas plate and an ice-cold beer on tap. We also can’t resist their delicious queso with chorizo on top, or the satisfying street tacos during happy hour. For drinks, their Oaxacan old-fashioned is a standout, and they have an impressive selection of Mezcal.
This place is a reminder that the best restaurants are often the ones closest to home—the ones that feel like an extension of your own kitchen, a place you can always count on for good food and a warm welcome.

This had been our favorite Mexican in Kirkland with a great happy hour and dinner options but over the past few months my husband and I have both had food poisoning with the al pastor, his a two months or so ago and mine yesterday. All other meals have been fine and although the al pastor was delicious, I don’t wish that evening on anyone.

Went to happy hour here and the food was amazing. The mango margarita was so tasty and the happy hour prices were on point. Built out of the old JB Bungalow, this place has amazing happy hour options. Pictured below are the tostada ceviche, al pastor tacos, and taquitos. $5 draft beer and $8 margaritas. The chips are thick and homemade but crunchy and not super hard. New favorite Mexican restaurant. 5/5

Amazing service, drinks, and flavorful food! Can’t beat the location with the view of the water either. Portion sizes were great. I will definitely be coming back with friends and family. Excited to try out their happy hour as well and enjoy their outside seating in the summer with the view of lake Washington!

Great staff, nice and clean restaurant with good vibes. Ordered the the Casa burrito via El Pastor. I travel for work and eat at many mexican restaurants along the way and this one was next level for flavor. Even the hot sauce was on point.

First time visit and absolutely fell in love with it. The food was authentic and exceptional. The chips were amazing and the salsa has a good bit of bite to it, and the staff was so incredibly friendly. Brand new location in Juanita across from the beach and this will definitely be a place that we end up going time and time again
