Always, always solid drinks! Milk tea and boba are my love language, and they’ve perfected the art! Never had a bad drink over all these years. What’s even better is the purpose behind what they do. Thank you for serving those who are enslaved and in poverty. God bless!

Decent boba tea but terrible customer service. My wife and I stopped by one afternoon and it was slow. We were the only customers in the store the whole time. We were sitting at the bar drinking our teas and a staff person came up to us and said they have a seating limit of 15 minutes for their customers (and we had been sitting for 15 minutes I guess) so now we had to leave. The store was empty. We were the only customers and there are enough seats for at least 10 people. Why couldn’t this guy just let us sit their in peace minding our own business and finish our drinks?! It was totally unnecessary to come over and tell us to leave after we purchased our teas and left a tip too. I will definitely never return here. I “hope” it was worth losing our business and earning a bad review.

The açaí base is very good and thick, best in town. However, the topings are extremely limited. Pay for extra toppings and get barely any. Not worth it in my opinion.

I’ve tried many places for açaí bowls.. this is so far my favorite… they have a reasonable price, taste good, the consistency of acai is close ice cream texture while made it more unique. I’m gonna try their boba drinks next time. I love the store ambiance as well.

Extremely disappointing and rude. I came in to relax and enjoy a coffee while waiting for my car inspection. Wanted a place to stay cool and not burn in the sun. After 15 minutes they kicked me out per their 15 minute policy. I have not even finished half of my coffee and nobody was in there but me. I asked if I could stay a little longer since they have no customers. I was considering ordering food when I finished my coffee, but they said because of could they could only have people for 15 minutes. I didn’t even need a coffee! I only bought it to escape the sun and relax. The coffee was good but I will not be back. Terribly rude and confusing.

My açaí bowl virginity has finally been had, LOL! I’ve heard of them but never knew what they were exactly. I thought I was getting a bowl of yogurt with fruits and other toppings. Turns out the açaí is a South American palm tree and it’s the berries that you’re eating!
THE BUSINESS:
The Made In Hope Café is a branch of the Made In Hope non-profit organization that assists women and children that have been trafficked for sex. While I have yet to step foot inside the shop (located next to JB’s Kitchen in Wailuku), a co-worker did a run for us.
THE GOODS:
Açaí Bowl
Available in three sizes, I got the regular size which is a medium. Aside from the blended, deep-red açaí berry, you also get granola, honey, fresh cut strawberries and fresh sliced bananas. One “basic” topping is included in which I chose graham crackers (others are caramel drizzle, coconut, chocolate chips, chocolate drizzle, fruit jellies, fruit poppings, marshmallow bits, mini or regular boba, mochi and Oreo crumble. They also have premium toppings which cost a bit more. I opted for Nutella. Other premium toppings are bee pollen, blueberries, brownie bites, chia seeds, condensed milk, mango, peanut butter powder, pineapple, sea salt cream and white chocolate chips.
Because our bowls were delivered after lunch, I put mine in the fridge to eat the next day as I was full. Bad idea, more so for the Nutella which clumped up but softened after being out for an hour. The liquid base of açaí berries tasted like a traditional berry sauce, lightly sweetened by the honey. If you’re wondering, the açaí is void of any crunchy seeds inside, so it’s very smooth and not tart. The chocolatey Nutella and flavors from the fruits all blended well together, providing for a fresh, creamy and light breakfast.
They also sell a variety of coffees, teas, other beverages, bagels and small food items.
OVERALL:
I’m not a huge fan of fruits but I really liked it. It was a very nice change from my hearty, unhealthy breakfasts!

Great place for a nice cold drink on a hot day! They have some pretty cool flavors for boba drinks & açaí bowls. And a great mission that is definitely worth supporting!
Because of covid, They have a order/take out window. The wait is minimal.

Made in Hope Cafe has been a staple in my family for the last 3 or 4 years. It’s family run and benefits a great church for young adults and kiddos. Their Acai, Pataya and Blue Majyk Bowls are my faves. Coffee and Boba teas are always a hit. And I send many people their who love their goodies. Definitely a favorite of ours and we love going by there. Board Games are in the sit down area to play as you wait and service is always friendly.

The variety of drinks here, it’s amazing! I love their Caramel craze drink it was the best. I love the texture and the presentation. The quality is amazing. I love that they also have a place to sit to wait for your drinks. We got our drinks really quick for a large order. The staff are so sweet and helpful. I appreciate their hard work since we came in with a large order. They also sell some nice candy that’s homemade. I enjoy looking through their shirts and their books they on the side, great designs and messages. The environment is so clean and welcoming. They also have tools shop next door as well. Overall, I had such a wonderful experience and I would love to come back here again.
