Like an oasis in a sea of fried food!

Rocked our world. If you’re traveling through central Wisconsin or a local and craving excellent, fresh, quality food with color, green lettuce, this is the spot.

All of the bread and pastries are made here. Everything down to the pickles are quality ingredients.

Beautiful spot with delicious food and bakery items! Limited seating but it looks like a lot of carry outs were picked up! Would go again when I’m in the area!

Came to Stevens Point for an overnight and looked for a nice spot for brunch on my way back, and I’m very fortunate to have stumbled upon The Main Grain Bakery. So delicious! I got the “MGB Lunchbox Special” which was a Rueben and sooo good. I will definitely be stopping again next time I’m in town and will be snagging some of the sourdough bread on my way out. Also the chocolate chunk cookie is just drool worthy. Wish I had grabbed extra for the road

Had the Hungarian Mushroom soup, it was awesome! Interior feels a lot like Ikea: lots of white, light wood, clean lines. Very airy. Great spot for a lunch hangout with a good friend, not so much to take a family.

If I ever want to impress visitors or company, this is a must stop. They are fresh bread is to die for and a perfect compliment to any meal. Their desserts are decadent, though I do recommend if you want a full cake to order a couple days in advance just to make sure you get the flavor that you were looking for. My personal favorites are their Whoopie pies.

In one word: Wow.
I’m visiting family in the area, and have to say this stop is a must. The asiago thyme bread, wow. The sandwiches (jitterbug and bhan mi) on the baguette are amazing. Both these sandwiches are vegetarian. The sandwiches come with chips, salad or soup. The vegetarian chowder we had was possibly the most delicious thing I’ve ever tasted.

We ordered from The Main Grain for a dessert bar at the wedding reception for my son and his new wife. These local celebrity bakers always hit it out of the park! The cupcakes, brownies, cookies, and cookie cream pies were fresh and packaged perfectly. I love the Wisconsin butteriness (if that’s a word ). The photo shows how the display turned out.

I just want to say how much I appreciate this place. I’ve been going there every week for years for bread, sandwiches, and so many other delicious items.

Today, I ordered a soup and was accidentally given the wrong one, the first mix-up I’ve ever experienced there. I called to see if they’d have Hungarian mushroom soup tomorrow (it’s my absolute favorite), and they let me know they wouldn’t. I told them it was a bummer but that I completely understood.

Not only did they credit the soup — they credited my entire order. I truly didn’t expect that.

The customer care they showed was above and beyond. Please support this local business. It’s absolutely fantastic, and I can’t express how thankful I am for the way they handled this.

Main Grain Bakery is truly a mission of successful entrepreneurs who are passionate about what they do and they do it so well, we get to benefit from all their hard work and years of toil. Such is the case of Sarah Jo, who came to Steven’s Point for college and then loved the town so much she stayed and became a pretty darn good baker. I am certainly appreciative of that because her bakery was one of the highlights of our stay in Steven’s Point. We knew of the bakery from it being highlighted on Wisconsin Foodie but what we didn’t know and couldn’t predict is instead of going there to pick up a loaf of artisan bread, which they were out of by the time we got there (early bird gets the bread folks and we weren’t early…) but Main Grain has another part to it that offers sandwiches, soups, salads and delectable pastries and cookies to fill the void that once was a whole loaf of bread… it was a very effective and palatable trip! The Caldoverde soup, which was Portuguese sausage, white bean and potato soup was out of this world! We got the last cup so you know it was good! The Cuban on the baguette was crispy with a soft interior and melted cheese! I also enjoyed the turkey sandwich on the sourdough and don’t even get me started on the pistachio, chocolate chip cookies…. mmmmm, mmmmm… Next time, I will be getting up “early” to get that loaf of bread, but I’m staying for the soup and sandwiches too!

Superb sandwiches at very fair prices for the quality. Friendly staff. Lovely, welcoming interior. And the quality of the bread is worth the visit alone (even from hours away). Will definitely be returning!
