Great atmosphere and great service. We stumbled at this wine bar looking for another place, but glad we went inside. Small cozy spot that nice and quiet to end the night with a glass of wine. The server explained the wines by glass to us and gave us a few options. Because we got there late, the kitchen was closed but they had desserts available. We got the chocolate fondant (lava cake) and it was delicious.

Pleasant food and cozy ambience, but with unapologetically Parisian service.
Staff were deeply absorbed in scrolling while casually checking in — with themselves, paying no mind to willing customers.
The servers, when present, are helpful in navigating their wine menu and explaining their tasty, simple, charcuterie offerings.
Guests can find some relief in knowing you won’t need to trek inconvenient distances to let staff know you’d like to order more or begrudgingly pay. Although, with their level of attentiveness, it’s not clear they’d notice if you left without paying until it’s time to tally the books.
Sadly, I won’t be returning for a third visit to what is otherwise a neat little spot in the heart of Marda Loop.

What an absolute gem. Nestled in Marda Loop this wine bar is a fantastic place to spend a long afternoon or evening enjoying the atmosphere together with good wine and good company.
The owner Yann is as French as anyone this side of the Seine, with a big French accent that is matched by his knowledge of French wine.
There are some food options, of course led by the house cheese board in keeping with the French theme, complete with truffle honey and cheese from a Swiss monastery, simply outstanding. There are also some warm shareable options that will accompany your choice of fine wine.
Definitely worth a visit.

We had such a wonderful experience at AVITUS. It really felt like a Wayne bar experience you would have in France. All of the servers were French, and made the whole experience feel very genuine.
It was very busy at 6pm on a Friday but we were able to get a table outside. They have pillows and blankets on the chairs, as well as a heater outside. It was so cozy.
Ahh, the wine. We did not receive a menu, instead, you talked to your server and told them the type of wine that you liked and what what you were looking for and they would give you some options. It was such a cool experience.
The food is a build your own charcuterie menu, with meats, cheeses, spreads and pickled vegetables. It was so nice to be able to pick exactly what you wanted in flavors and in size too.
We had such a wonderful experience here and will be back again for sure.

A perfect French paradise in Calgary! Fantastic wine selection with knowledgeable and friendly staff. They will help you choose a wine based on your preferences and price point and suggest food pairings. The food selections are excellent with imported cheeses and house made spreads.

I love this place and have come many times, the problem I have is that the charcuterie board is not charcuterie board at all, it was just two meet priced at 30$, okay I have no problem but tell me it’s just meat not charcuterie, because we don’t live in Paris we live in Canada and charcuterie means different thing, other thing is honey, if I’m paying 5$ for honey in a small jar, at least make it full, I had to go talk with the bar to ask for a full jar of honey, and he told me to chill, which I consider disrespectful when I’m paying that much, salut

The perfect hidden gem! These French guys are sure to sweep you off your feet with an impeccable wine select and carefully crafted homemade and locally sourced snacks.
