We had the best time at Julz Karaoke Night on Wednesday their DJ was for all the shenanigans He was the best … Our bartender, Ms Kim was amazing right on point paid attention to our every need I definitely will be looking for her again …. My friends have been there before This was my first time and it will not be my last I can’t remember all the drinks we had Ms Kim made a special margarita for one of my girlfriend’s that was out of this world I had my favorite Malibu Punch I think one of us had Crown Royale Apple with ginger ale and cranberry juice… Two of us had shrimp with broccoli and OMG it was deliciousness and the only male in our party had wings and he tore them up …. Used to order all the time. Food has fallen way off…wings are dry burnt and flavorless, yams were dry and unseasoned and can’t even call the store to speak to a person..we’ll never order from there again. Food was inedible..once the food pics were submitted to door dash our entire meal was refunded..thank goodness..

For a soul food spot this food isn’t even a 2 star. The snapper is bland with veggies on top. The rice is hard, and barely any in the pan. sweet potato tastes like baby food in a jar. Cornbread isn’t real cornbread. Yea this isn’t it. Mac and cheese is hard and fries tastes like nothing. Never again definitely a waste of 74 dollars I can’t get back

Julz Bar never disappoints. The bartenders and waitresses are always genuinely nice and welcoming, which honestly makes a huge difference. The food is consistently good, and the drinks are strong; definitely not watered down or stingy.
I also had a small discrepancy with my debit card during my last visit, and the way they handled it really stood out. Everything was addressed with class and grace, no attitude, no runaround. That kind of customer service goes a long way.
I’ll absolutely continue to support Julz Bar. Great vibes, great service, and a place that actually cares about its customers. Oh and don’t forget DJ SOUL is literally the best in the city!!

The drinks were definitely strong. The service 2/10. It took us an hour to receive our food. They opened at 5:00pm and we arrived at 5:10pm. My girlfriend had a burger and fries. It was a thin piece of meat.My other girlfriend had the salmon and rice and she said it was cold. .We ordered appetizers and never received them. I had lamb cheese steak and onion rings The lamb was tender and the roll was soft, however the onion rings were greasy. If you do visit eat first and hit up the bar.

I will say if you plan on getting food you need to order as soon as you step foot in because it’s going to take about 40 mins. The food is good even if the portions are consistent. Last time I went there was just a little bit of fries but it didn’t bother me enough to complain because I wasn’t starving.
You are going to have to scream to get some type of service there. Their drinks are all that and can be STRONG. The music and vibes is old school if you like that. The crowd is definitely an older crowd. You’ll see people 40+ in there. However, it’s all good vibes.
I always get the lemon pepper wings and no you do not have to ask for them to fry hard they just do. Tables are hard to catch on the weekend so you may be standing.

Very nice place with a mature crowd. Karaoke is very fun, but the dj shows favoritism to the people who support over the years (his words, not mine), so it’s hard to get on the mic.
The salmon egg rolls are very good. The mussels are the worst! They were overly saturated with garlic and butter. In my first experience, the mussels were given in bag, which was filled with 90% butter and garlic (pictures below). I ask the manager or owner, “Is this how the mussels are usually served?” He said “yes” I was shocked. Because I’ve never had mussels served this way plus majority of the mussels were closed. I tried to push through and eat them, but I couldn’t. The garlic and butter were too much..
The cook came out and knew my friend and she told him about the mussels and showed him the video and pictures. I asked him if this was normal. He took full accountability and stated that it wasn’t his best work, and that isn’t normally how the mussels are served. What did it for me was the manager who handled the situation like I just wanted something for free offering half off the item. Instead, bring the dish to the kitchen and have them correct the issues. I ordered two meals so it wasn’t about the money. I just wanted quality food and to be heard. Customer service is crucial to a business it ensures return customers.. I said I would give them an other chance and order the mussels again when I return. I did. I ordered mussels and a fish platter with mac and cheese and green beans. The mussels were once again the worst same issue too much butter and garlic this time served in a bowl… The fish was good, mac and cheese, not so good, and green beans flavorless. From my recent experiences, the best part of Julz is the music. The fried food is extremely salty as well as the rice. I ordered greens and it was mixed with cabbage. The drinks are overpriced and watered down. $16 for a Tito’s lemon drop in a plastic cup full of ice was unbelievable! Ordered a $24 fried catfish fish platter, received 1 piece of fish. The barmaid said they give you 2 pieces “sometimes” I’m done!

Their DJ said a derogatory comment towards me over the microphone, used my name specifically!!!. One guy(former cop with a cane) literally, stood so close next to my girls and I, would not move and would not buy us a drink and did not want anyone else to. First drink I purchased was ok. $20 lemon drop is pretty steep to me. The next needed so much work I wanted to ask for my money back. Overall, music is pretty good. Come with a guy that is generous and knows how to have a good time or come prepared to cover yourself ladies!
