I visited this place because I heard a lot of good news about it. However, I ended up with roaches in the tacos I ordered. I tried to contact the restaurant and spoke with someone and they only wanted to replace my food. I said no I don’t want anymore food. I have tried to reach them again and again and they will not contact me back. I even sent messages on their Facebook page and they have either blocked me or deleted the page. I am very disappointed because I cater food and have my certification for food handling and if I had been notified as a caterer of roaches in the food, I would have given a refund back and a big apology. See the pictures below. I thought it was one of the brown potatoes they put in your order with the tacos but it was actually a large roach. I had to throw up immediately after seeing that with my OCD.

I recently placed a to-go order and arrived later than the estimated pickup time, missing their call. They explained they tried to reach me because they didn’t want my food to get cold. To my surprise, they remade my entire order so it would be hot and fresh when I arrived. That level of customer service is rare and truly appreciated. My family and I were so impressed that we came back again just a few days later and we all absolutely loved the food. Highly recommend!

Absolutely wonderful Mexican food, best atmosphere in town, and the hibiscus margarita is awesome. The staff and owners are so nice, always making us feel at home. It’s just two blocks from our apartment, so we eat here all the time, like every week for the last year and for a while everyday. I’ve never seen or had a problem with their food, service, or atmosphere. They are so hardworking, keeping late hours and always open with up-styled food, and the chocolate churroe are amazing.
I did a deep dive on the one bad review, and Copilot said it was fake in a lot of ways. The user has a fake account, no other reviews, and could be another restaurant or someone trying to get free food which is what she wanted. It’s abnormal in many ways I don’t even want to mention and so unrealistic for that to even happen. AI is wild, and I fear for local restaurants dealing with people who can’t afford tacos! There is NO other review saying this and not one negative comment about the restaurant. Ashia, tell the truth!!!

While visiting Duck Commander (shout out to the guy behind the counter who highly recommended Papi Loco) my husband smelled food and noticed there was a to go box and he asked the guy for food recommendations around the area as we were here for HS baseball playoffs. We LOVE Birria and he suggested the birria quesadillas. So off we went … upon arrival it was raining and the door was locked. We had checked the hours before arriving and it said they were open. My husband noticed a guy in there so he tapped on the to-go window and the guy said they were having technical difficulties due to the weather but to come on in. He’d be ready in just a few. We were greeted with chips and salsa (I’m picky about salsa and this salsa was GOOD!!). I ordered the hibiscus margarita and it just so happened to be 2 for $6 (Cinco de Mayo special). It was delightful! The majority of the table ordered the King Quesa Birria. My only complaint was that it was a little messy/hard to eat, but the flavor was spot on! That crispy shell with the melted cheese and meat. Chefs kiss!! As if we weren’t full already, we had to try the Papi Churros. OMG! They were so warm and oh so good! So make sure you save room for dessert!!! Highly recommend Papi Loco!

I got a hibiscus margarita on the rocks, the happy plate, and a chicken taco with coleslaw!! That drick was amazing . The food came out quickly was delicious. Unfortunately I was only visiting town for the day or I would be a regular. Thank y’all

Really enjoy the atmosphere, great food, drinks and music was . The server was really great and overall welcoming. Food was flavorful and reasonably priced. The hibiscus margaritas were 1000/10. Hope to be back if I’m ever traveling in the future.

It is great to find a hidden gem. Passing through Monroe and found Papi Loco. Greeted by the owner, who took great care of the group. The chips and 3 salsa choices were great. The table ordered all the street taco choices, and 2 fajitas. Owner made us pastor fajitas which is not on the menu. Everyone loved their choices. The pastor fajitas have perfect seasoning with perfectly grilled onions and peppers. Crazy hot tortillas made the perfect fajitas with rice, beans, and all the extras. Will be back for more next trip through Monroe. Also, this is a family owned and operated business so show support !

I absolutely adore this place. Everything about it is just so exquisitely intrinsic. The artwork in here is magnificent and captivating. The seating is very strategically place to make sure that maximum space is had and don’t get me started on the margaritas and the food they are to die for. Now for the staff, the owner is in the building and is a wonderfully nice human being. It’s a whole family run business and they are all so sweet. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND. we will be coming here more frequently!!

The hibiscus margarita was so refreshing and delicious. The horchata was also divine! I got chicken and shrimp fajitas, a fish street taco, and a flan served over a chocolate cake with a candied strawberry in the middle. I also got to meet the owner! The quality level reminds me of Jovi’s in Baton Rouge, and it makes me wish I still lived here.
