ShiMiaDao Yunnan Rice Noodle shop is an excellent representation of Chinatown Philadelphia. I was told that this place would provide me with “authentic Chinese noodle soup.” Hey man, they did not disappoint.
SERVICE: excellent. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and attentive to all the customers. Although I was familiar with this style of noodle soup, the waiter took his time to explain how to prepare them at the table.
AMBIENCE: the restaurant is pretty small, but is aesthetically pleasing. The music wasn’t too loud that it was drawn-out conversations. The place appears kid-friendly, good for small groups of friends, or lunch with the family.
SOUP: I chose the original rice noodle brisket soup and the ingredients can be seen in my attached photos. The broth was light with a subtle buttery taste. It was even better after adding chili oil. A raw, will give the soup a 7.5/10. Although it wasn’t my all-time favorite soup, I look forward to coming back very soon and trying it with my wife and children.
Overall: 8.5/10. I can’t wait to come back and try out different selections on the menu.

I love rice noodles but Hard to find the place with ck soup or vegetable soup base. Luckily this restaurant has the option. The flavor I ordered was Chicken soup cooked with some Chinese medicine, which was ok, but I didn’t like that much. I would try the pure Chicken one next time.

This place was a place that I visited as a child. Coming back though, it did not disappoint in food, service, and atmosphere. The dishes were amazing and felt really interactive while being surprisingly super hot, the staff was kind and understanding, and the murals and paintings in the menus and restaurants itself added a really nice touch to the place. Come here if you want an amazing time with cheap but delicious food. 10/10

Was dragged here by friends insisting that I must try what ‘authentic’ Chinese food tastes like. And it did not disappoint!
A very homely and quaint shop around the corner in Chinatown.
I got the Veg tofu rice noodles with tomato soup and it was absolutely delicious. The dish arrived boiling hot, and you’re supposed to add your noodles and the side dishes to it and let them cook for bit before eating.
I did burn my tongue throughout the experience but that did not stop me from scarfing my food down.
Definitely recommend to anyone visiting chinatown.

Some of the best food Ive had in Philly. The broth was delicious and extremely rich with a wonderful depth of flavor. The cucumber salad had a great taste too. They don’t have a lot of seating so make sure that they have space for your party. However, I still think that this is one of the best places to go to in China town

This place is a gem! Came around 3pm on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed! Ordered a mushroom flavor soup and it was sooooo tasty. My friends ordered an original and the sour cabbage ones. All of the broths taste so differnt but all amazing. Lovely and fun experience having all the ingredients come separately and you just put everything together. Reminds me of a hot pot, but smaller and personal. The spicy cucumber appetizer was so refreshing, love the slight spice and fresh crunch. Would definitely come again. Maybe on a colder fall or winter day

ive never had noodles like these before, but they were amazing! the amount of noodles you get is insane, its a good three days worth of noodles. the noodles were insanely hot, i was stirring for a solid 30 minutes before i could eat. once i could actually taste them, the noodles were super flavorful! im still in awe by the amount we were given honestly. the music was loud and the ambience was slightly strange with the bright white lights, but the food was v good 🙂
