I think I would just keel over and die if this restaurant wasn’t in Berea. If I didn’t have bills to pay I’d be there for every meal. I still go more than my Budget appreciates
The gorditas are to die for. Honestly, I haven’t had anything there that wasn’t delicious.
Great people, great service, and delicious food. That said, it is definitely not your typical “American Mexican” restaurant, but I say that in delight. Don’t think about it, just go.
Get a mangonada and a mango chili lollipop while you’re at it.

My son and I were in town dropping him back off at school and we decided on a little dinner before calling it an evening. My son recommended Dona Maria’s and authentic Mexican is always a favorite. Upon arrival and taking a moment to peruse the menu, I ordered three Carnitas Tacos and my son ordered the Birria Burrito and we sat ourselves. Our food arrived within a reasonable amount of time, the food was hot and delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Dona Maria’s comes well recommended.

Stopped back in Berea, my home town, for a long weekend with family and friends. Had not been back in a couple of years, wonderful restaurant with reasonable prices, simple eating atmosphere and authentic food. Great to see that the City is growing with new locally owned business that provides more eating choices than just the old ice cream/gift shop that used to be on this corner. Ordered esquites, tamales (chicken/beef) and enmoladas. Thew wait for food was short, food was warm and delicious. Another attraction for when I return back to the special place of Berea, KY. I recommend to others. Great job Dona Maria’s, very tasty.

Spent shop local Saturday in Berea and spotted this place just in time for lunch. It did not disappoint! Great service, very friendly, and delicious food! My husband sticks to paleo(meat and veggies) and they easily made him a delicious plate! He had Asada and veggies, my daughter and I tried a chicken tamale, bean and cheese tamale, corn in a cup, and an asada gordita. Highly recommend and very adorable and quick!

An absolute gem in Berea, Kentucky. We gave this establishment a try the first week they opened and the amazing food and service keeps us coming back. They have expanded their menu over the past year their business continues to grow. It is a family owned operation with a competent, friendly, and efficient staff. Stop in for lunch or dinner soon, the garden is lovely and at its peak!

By far the THE best Mexican food I’ve had in Kentucky. Their Chicken Pozole was absolutely amazing. I’ve also had their tacos al pastor. Chips and especially the salsa was delicious. Definitely worth a stop.

Berea is lucky to have this place. Its authentic and well made food.
As a vegan, I got a potato torta without mayonnaise. I’m not sure it was entirely vegan… but it was most definitely delicious. Wish I had taken another one for the road to eat right now. Yummmmyy

My white girlfriend told me about this place and I was very skeptical at first. As soon as walked in I was greeted with a warm welcome and such a sweet home cooked atmosphere. The chilaquiles were better than anything back home in Texas. Simple, made with love, perfect genuine flavor. Can’t wait to come back!

My hope is to eventually change this rating At the moment, I think this delightful spot has some work to do with improving the flavour of their food.
Went here for dinner this evening. They had friendly service, an easy to navigate menu and a lovely space. We bought:
Tacos Doridos $10
Chicken Tamales $3
Gordita $3
All together it seemed like a decent price for a lot of food! Unfortunately, each item completely lacked flavour. The texture was perfect and the ingredients seemed good quality, but each item tasted bland unless we dunked it in one of the salsas. It’s this reason that makes the rating so low.
There’s so much potential here! So hopefully the kinks will get worked out and we’ll be back with a better review.
