I’ll be completely honest here that it’s time I left a review. My BF and I have been coming here for the entirety of our relationship (6.5 years) and we don’t ever plan on stopping. This is definitely our comfort go-to place that we’ll go to at least 2-4 times a month. With every family owned Chinese restaurant, there’s always at least a container or two that just won’t close because it’s been packed so full so the prices are always well worth it. The family who owns the family are all very sweet. The food has always been very very good and I especially recommend the beef with broccoli and the dumplings. I love the sauce that comes with the dumplings enough that I order several little containers of it whenever I come here so I have some stocked up at home. Overall, if you’re looking for a good takeout place I highly recommend Jia Yuan. 100% 10/10 place

This is a really good Chinese restaurant! The staff was kind and courteous, preparing food in a very timely manner. I’ve been looking for a new Chinese food place to frequent and I think I may have found it in this cute little place! Highly highly recommend!

Inconsistent with the food taste. Sometimes very bad and sometimes good.
Their Curry chicken with rice and Fried rice are good. They don’t accept some kinds of credit card, they accept only visa cards. Quick serving.

Very inconsistent. Ive ate here many times, with good food. Lately food is either dry and overcooked. Even tastes scorched sometimes. The food today is very greasy, could see the grease dripping out of the egg roll.

I ordered the Mongolian Beef combination meal. Even though I ate in, I had to order from the front counter and the food was served in to-go packaging. I was left to get my own eating utensils and condiments. They have a VERY small selection of canned or bottled sodas. The first thing I noticed was that the gravy had been overthickened with corn starch/arrow root powder to the point of being gelatinous. In addition, the beef was of a consistency of having been way to tough to start and severely overboiled to tenderize it. Other than these issues, the depth and quality of flavor easily overcame the previously mentioned shortcomings. The amount of heat was perfect. Sadly though, no fortune cookies are included in the meal. If it hadn’t been for the great flavors, I would have rated my visit with three stars instead of four. It is also the reason that I would go back and try other menu items. Next time I will avoid the beef and order chicken.

A great dinner option for consistently good, quick Chinese food on the Westside. The pickup order is always ready in 15 or less. And the family that owns Jia Yuan are nice. I never see anyone eating inside. The prices are cheap and the food is great!

I have been coming here for years. In my opinion, best Chinese food and prices on the west side of GR and Walker/Standale. I have never been unhappy with a meal here. Nice people too! The dining room is small and you eat out of styrofoam and plastic utensils, that’s true. But this is mostly a take out place, not a true dine in place.

A hidden gem on the Northwest side , Jia Yuan has delicious house lo mein that has just the right amount of sauce to make the noodles not dry, but not drenched either. Their chicken egg rolls are the most flavorful egg rolls you can get around here. They also have a tasty egg drop wonton soup. If you get any shrimp entrees, you get very large succulent shrimps. Family owned, Jia Yuan is a nice little take out restaurant that will leave your tummy satisfied every time without emptying your wallet.
