From the moment I walked in, the cashier was super friendly and helpful with my order, which set the tone right away.
We got the breakfast sandwich and the peach French toast, and both were amazing. The sandwich came on a poppy brioche that was pillowy soft inside with a perfectly delicate crunch on the outside. The sausage patty had just the right amount of spice and wasn’t greasy, and the runny egg pulled everything together.
The peach French toast was just as good. The bread was crunchy on the outside but soft inside, topped with a sweet and salty cream. The mix of fresh peach slices and gently cooked peaches made it even better.
We also grabbed a croissant, which honestly might be the best I’ve ever had, even compared to ones I’ve tried in France. For a drink, I had the espresso tonic with a touch of sweetness and a slice of orange peel, and it was the perfect companion.
Can’t recommend this place enough.
Also this place should think if they want to be a bakery or a restaurant. I am there for fine quality bread, I’d love to switch my family to it 100%, but I can’t do it if I need to wait 20 minutes in line every time.
Also option of slicing bread loafs would be nice – every store around (lunardis, Mollie Stone) has it – I’d say lack of this looks bad especially if you consider backhaus above premium prices.
The fact I buy there in spite of the lines and poor service says all about bread quality – it is awesome, the best bread I’ve ever had.
Highly prefer this location over their San Mateo one. It’s great to be able to sit down on the upper floor and enjoy my food.
Got the breakfast sandwich (along with a cup of joe) and it’s really good. Great way the start the day.
Service was fairly quick. There was a line, but it moved really quickly.
