This is an incredible Iraqi restaurant. The atmosphere is very cozy and seems like you’re back in time. Lama – the owner served us and was very friendly and welcoming.
For appetisers, we ordered the Hummus and 4 piece Kibbeh. Both tasted very good. However, considering the high prices of the menu items, I was expecting home made fresh warm bread served with the hummus but instead was given just few pieces of cold pita bread. We were also served fresh lentil soup (complimentary) which was just perfect especially since the weather is cold outside.
For mains, we ordered Quzi – a traditional Iraqi lamb and rice dish. The rice was soft and fluffy and the meat was cooked to perfection! It was soft and just melts in your mouth. Quzi comes with a side of gravy as well which wasn’t too bad.
For the service, it was great. Though slightly slow but considering it is a family run business, it’s understandable. Prices are definitely high but worth it.
I would personally come back here again.

Best muddle eastern food I’ve had. Super friendly patient service. I’ve brought out of country family here twice and ordered the same meal. It was actually even better the second time! I’d recommend this place to anyone who wants very good middle Eastern food! The platters are very good value too!

Absolutely the best Arabic food in windsor!! They’re opening a new location to match their exquisite food. They have everything and it’s all carefully made to perfection fresh to order. They don’t cut any corners and the proof will be confirmed by your pallet. I hated eggplant until I had theirs. Absolutely unbelievable excellence in every bite.

We were visiting Windsor for 3 days just before Xmas and wanted to try some new restaurants. Based on reviews on Google and Tripadvisor we decided to give Ayam Zaman a try and WOW, were we glad we did. The food and service were top notch. We were served by the owner who was very friendly and kind and happy to take the time and explain the food and give recommendations. This was our first time trying traditional food from Iraq and it was delicious. We had the lentil soup, fattoush salad and a mix of beef and chicken skewers (chicken tika was my fave). The owner created a mixed platter for us to try since we wanted to try a few things. Everything was wonderful from the soup to the tea we finished with. We will definitely return every time we visit Windsor. The value for money was above average and the quality was excellent. My mouth is watering thinking about it. The owner mentioned that they are relocating in the new year and I hope they are successful in their new location. We are looking forward to many more delicious meals in the new spot. Give this restaurant a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing friendly staff.. great food and very reasonable prices.
The best part about the place is the air conditioning.. was a hot day, 42° outside but inside it was very comfortable cold.. I didn’t want to leave.

My girlfriend and I hosted christmas this year and we placed our order for take out for 25 people. The food tasted amazing and we’ll prepared . All our guests complimented highly on the food tasting delicious, meat tender ,everything cooked to the tee. We highly recommend it, and you will not be disappointed. The owners are exceptional.
