HOOK’d is a scratch restaurant with beautiful lake and mountain views located in the Los Padres National Forest. An easy stopover off of the scenic San Marcos Pass HWY 154 at the Cachuma Lake Marina, patrons enjoy a free two hour pass. Open for Breakfast, Lunch, Weekend Dinner and live music on Saturday evenings. Just a 15 min drive from Santa Barbara or Santa Ynez Valley. Continuing the Cachuma Lake family business since 1954, serving a chef driven menu that pulls from ranch heritage and west coast cuisine. Sourced locally, served simply. We had a great burger, tri – tip sandwich with fries and an onion rings. You order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. There is a full bar with plenty of seating and tvs to watch two different games. Outdoor seating has a lovely lake. The only issue is a multitude of indoor flies. This needs to be handled. We ended up coming here due to the television commercial. Very recommended.

Restaurant is located at Cachuma Lake, recreational area. Tell the park guard that you’re going to the restaurant and get your receipt validated for free parking.
Great view of the lake while eating. There we live music on Sunday afternoon. I don’t know how often there is music.
Bathrooms are across the parking lot.

Enjoyed the ambiance of sitting amongst the oak trees, next to the lake, drinking some beer on a warm, pleasant day listening to a live band on a Saturday afternoon. They have live music every Saturday from 4 to 7, and Sunday from 1 to 4, I’m told. This band was really good, singing largely 70’s and 80’s hits. They have a decent selection of drinks considering their size with some dedicated workers in the back kitchen for food. Very hospitable workers. I’ve returned and edited the times. The band moves inside for concerning weather.

This spot is great!!! I highly recommend going in and enjoying the live music and delicious food. I wasn’t planning on dancing but the crowd was such a good vibe that i couldn’t help myself. This place is a gem.

Food and service were great, the service was amazing. Staff were so nice and lots of smiles. I’m coming back also you do not need to pay the entrance fee if you eat at the restaurant, just make sure to keep your receipt from the restaurant

Always have a fun time making a trip out to the lake for some lunch. I have tried many of their sandwiches and they’ve always been great. They have indoor seating or a covered patio. The patio is dog friendly if you’re looking for somewhere to bring your dog. If you are just stopping by for the restaurant, let the staff at the entrance know and they’ll print you a visitors pass for 2 hours parking.

The food was delicious! We ordered a Cachuma Burger and a beef hot dog with onion rings. At dust I was disappointed that their most popular dish was out, but what we ordered was amazing! If I had to pick something to improve, it would be to turn on the outdoor heaters. It was a bit chilly and it would’ve made a nicer wait. The ambience at the order counter was interesting with fish on the wall above. Overall it was charming. The woman behind the counter was helpful with food choices.

They have raised their prices AGAIN. Almost 20 percent on the hot dog I bought. I would drive from Santa Maria because they are good. They probably don’t care what I think. But today will be the last time I give this establishment my business. I wish more people would revolt at the prices being charged these days.

The wife and I have always enjoyed lunch here at Hook’d. We are local foodies. Last night we tried the new higher end dinner experience. We absolutely loved the small but excellent menu. The chowder was top notch, a baked chicken with sides and rum cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert. All must try. All with an amazing lakeside seating!!!
