Best crispy thin crust pizza in the area! Light, flavorful sauce made with actual tomatoes, spices baked in, and quality toppings all combine to make an exceptionally good pie that is very bold and flavorful. Be sure to order it “well done, extra crispy”, because that’s how I like it.

The restaurant is mostly takeout but I always like to stop in, as it’s a warm and cozy place to chill out and have a good glass of red wine or a beer and relax for a bit.

Pro tip: get a pie or two from here, then go visit the surrounding craft breweries. Umberto’s is conveniently located right around the corner from Lone Oak, Elder Pine, and Waredaca and immediately outside of Olney.

Love this place!!!
They have the best pizza in the area! Thin crust with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Their white pizza is delicious too. Their salads are great! The dressing tastes bright and not too heavy.
I always get great service from this family owned resturant. They’re so kind and accommodating. I have to stop myself from going to often or I will get fat : )
It’s winter now, but in good weather they have a cute patio out back. It is a fun option when spring comes!

If you’re interested in good, I mean good Italian food, Umberto’s is the place. It’s a small unassuming restaurant, but that’s part of the charm. Food was the best authentic Italian I’ve had in a while. I grew up in South Jersey with Italian parents and this is how my father cooked. Be warned… this is not a chain restaurant with too much salt and over the top flavoring. The food is fresh, you can taste the tomatoes, the bread nice and crusty and the marinara is simple but full of flavor, I would say uncomplicated. Portions are family sized but reasonably priced. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and the owner came by after our meal to make sure everything was good. We will be bringing friends on our next visit to share with them this little gem.

My family and I really loved Umbertos. We’re so sad it’s closed down now… my dad mentions all the time about how he wish he could’ve done something to help Umbertos. we really miss going. The family that worked there were so so sweet. We wish nothing but the best for them. It was such a great calm environment for a family dinner. so amazing. We’re really going to miss it.

My boyfriend and I just moved to the area from the New Jersey/New York area. We have had a hard time finding a true Italian restaurant with half decent food. We were driving and stumbled across Umbertos and decided to give it a try! From the outside, the place doesn’t look like much. It was a very quiet Sunday afternoon and to be honest, it didn’t seem like a good sign. But boy were we wrong! The food was incredible!! Tasted just like the New York Italian food that we have missed. Santos served us and was great!!

Moral of my story, don’t judge this place by the outside! Give the food a try and you won’t be sorry!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ! Amazing! They make all their food FROM SCRATCH. What restaurant still does that? Santos is very hospitable and runs a great business, he hates to see his customers wait and sure enough food comes out fast. You can just taste the difference, that the food is homemade. The first time I visited, last summer, I went with my mother and got the eggplant parmigiana, which was very very delicious. But today I tried the mushroom and the spinach raviolis and my friend had gnocchi, we both were blown away by just how much flavor everything had! Congratulations on a great business, always takes care of the customers, and again, as a cook myself, I love the homemade part and find this to be the best Italian place around!

We visited this restaurant on 7:00 PM on a recent Saturday night. There were more staff in the restaurant than there were customers. The server who came to take our order was sweaty and had a filthy shirt.

The food was not good. The chicken was slimy, the meatballs were inedible. Although there were only two tables with customers in the dining room the staff would disappear for long periods of time.

Two of us ordered desert. After 30 minutes our server told us he forgot that their POS system was “broken” and the desert order never got entered. He said he was very tired.

Not recommended.

This was our first time at Umbertos. I am glad we stopped here.

The food service was friendly and quick. The Pasta Bolognese was huge and flavorful. My wife ordered The broiled Rockfish. She said it was awesome. When we were full we asked for 2 to go boxes. We had 2 more full meals the next day.

This is definitely a place to add to your bucket list.

Delicious chicken marsala!
Picked up from their carryout last night for dinner from a very nice gentleman and my husband and I were pleasantly surprised. Amazing flavor and one of the best we’ve ever ever eaten! Many other entrees and appetizers to choose from as well as desserts. The rum cake is wonderful, light and not too sweet, loved it! Nice local restaurant, convenient to stop at on my route home from work. Will definitely be back!

We were here several months ago, and it was horrible! There was no one else in the restaurant, they sat us in the bar, and they were out of spaghetti. How can an Italian restaurant be out of spaghetti? I forget what type of pasta they substituted, but it wasn’t cooked correctly and was gummy/pasty like it had never actually been cooked, only sat in hot water until it got soft. I find it difficult to believe the glowing reviews are actually about THIS restaurant.
