I’ve been there one other time and everything was great!! this time I went in for a couple picanha steaks. They broke down an entire top sirloin for me just to cut a few steaks, and he did it with a big smile on his face. After that we had a discussion about all of his dry aged and wagyu steaks from Japan and Australia and told me if I ever needed anything to call ahead and have it all prepped and ready. I’ve been in the food industry for over 18 years, I’ve worked all over the United States and Europe in some of the most demanding kitchens and hotels and everything about this culinary experience was great!!

One of the greatest steaks I’ve ever had!!! Everything at Cogman’s Creek is delicious. Have tried ~Half dozen of there sandwiches and they’re all great. Butchers options are even better. The price is well worth it. If you’re looking for high quality ingredients, this is your place.

We’ve been loyal customers of Cogman’s Creek for years — lunches, catering, and regular orders — but this experience was so disappointing and honestly upsetting.
I have severe allergies, and onions are one of my highest-risk triggers that can cause severe allergic reactions. I ordered the Cheese Steak Wrap and left a very clear note requesting NO onions.
When I got home, my order was wrong. I called the restaurant and instead of an apology, I was met with a condescending response: “Well what do you want us to do? Want a new one?” When I politely said yes please and thank you, the call was abruptly ended.
A few minutes later, a man named Steve called and immediately began questioning me about toppings, then berated me, insisting I “should know” the wrap comes with peppers and mushrooms — even though the menu description only lists: “Sliced steak, cheddar cheese, sautéed onions.” There is no mention anywhere of peppers or mushrooms. I double-checked the menu while on the phone and confirmed that.
When I returned to pick up the remake, I was made to wait in line again awkwardly while Steve chatted casually, even after I asked to speak with the person who called me. When I explained what happened and showed screenshots, I was brushed off with “sorry sweetie.”
I run a food blog with over 20K followers, and I genuinely love supporting local small businesses and helping them grow — which makes this even more upsetting. Mistakes happen, but ignoring an allergy note, blaming the customer for menu inaccuracies, and being rude and dismissive is unacceptable. I left nearly in tears.

This place is great. Local butcher with fresh made dishes. Awesome selection of fresh meats from their Vermont farm. Dry aged beef as well. Picked up a dozen dry rub and a dozen spicy chili wings. Cooked to perfection. Dry rub is a favorite. They’re open 7 days a week. I definitely recommend this place.

Cogman’s is hands-down the best butcher around!
Everything they offer is top-notch, from their fresh meats to their incredible premade foods. I’m obsessed with their chicken salad—seriously, it’s the best I’ve ever had. My husband can’t get enough of their macaroni salad either. We recently tried their chicken burger, and wow—so flavorful and juicy! You can truly taste the difference in quality compared to supermarket meat. We always stock up on their chicken and ground beef because it’s just that fresh and delicious.
The team at Cogman’s is amazing, too. The guys behind the counter are always friendly, helpful, and happy to answer any questions. You can tell they care about their customers and what they do. If you haven’t checked them out yet, do yourself a favor and go—you won’t be disappointed!

Everything I’ve gotten here has been amazing each time. Golden Boy Sandwich is a personal favorite but my mom just ordered a hamburger and told me, “this is the best hamburger I’ve had in my life”. Highly recommend giving this place a try if you haven’t already!
