In order to find something new, we found this place and wanted to try it. We went when there were few people so it was really good.
We decided to sit outside as it was not raining luckily. Liked the fact they had cushions and they even put out a cover on the table which was so nice and made the experience worth it.
Server was very cordial and service is good. They checked in multiple times on us while we waited to order. Even after the food came, the chef did check on us as well.
Bread with the tomato oil-5/5( it was sooo good- bread was soft though not hot but fresh and tomato oil made it taste great)
Eggplant lasagna- 5/5 ( loved it)
Portabello ravioli-5/5( loved the Ravioli and the tomato pesto sauce)
Chicken Capellini pasta-4/5( would had loved some sauce on this)
Overall really worth trying this place.

I found this really cute lil Italian restaurant in West Hartford. The food was good, authentic Italian cuisine.The drinks were tasty and strong. The service was great and the atmosphere was really nice. The owner came over to ask how’s everything and how we found out about the place. We just wanted Italian close by, somewhere we never tried before.

What a find! With only a dozen or so inside tables, You can actually hear and speak with the other guests at your table. Our server, Dee, was exceptional. Cheerful, cordial, and attentive, she described the daily specials in detail. Our meals were well portioned, served nice and hot and delicious. Both the Chicken Milanese and Chicken Piccata were tender and nicely favored. My wife is vegetarian. She ordered penne a la vodka and it was pleased with it. Check the menu online for other vegetarian prepared meals. The Halibut special was also excellent. As you’ll see in the photos, the dessert selection was incredible. On street parking only. We’ll be back!

The food needs some fine tuning, but the waitress Dawn is such an absolute delight that the former can be overlooked. Such a great experience, mostly in part due to her attentiveness and honesty! We’ll give the food another try next time we’re in the area.

My husband & I wanted to try something new seeing as though we were already in the area… we came across Portobello Restaurant & we were BLOWN away!
We started off being greeted kindly, attentively & our table was set for outdoors (which we had the option of choosing) Our server Steve was very patient, kind & even had small talk with us. We had a bottle of wine, small Caesar salad, chicken parm, stuffed shrimp & ended the night with the brownie lava cake… AMAZING! I’m a chicken parm fanatic & when I tell you I’ve never had one better than this.. please believe me!! The chicken was crispy on the outside but so juicy on the inside (not flattened or dry) & the sauce was just enough & not drowning my dish! My husband LOVES shrimp & said he could tell the stuffing was fresh & different than what he’s had at other restaurants. (He barely talked during his meal because he couldn’t get enough) The mashed potatoes on his plate which I even tried myself were housemade & buttery. The plates were just cared for & definitely so great! You can tell they pay attention to detail. The owner/chef came around asking all the tables how everything was going.. if we needed anything.. etc. We complimented him on such a beautifully run & tasteful establishment & had small talk with him. He’s a very well spoken & humble man who seems to be very hardworking! We felt like family because it wasn’t just a “hi & bye” conversation.. he deeply cares for his patrons! We are so grateful we ran across this gem.. we’ve been talking about the generous portion sizes, flavorful dishes & reasonable prices with our family all day. Definitely a 10/10 RECCOMMEND!!!! When you enter the door, it’s impossible not to notice the extreme attention to detail in the decor and service! The restaurant might seem ordinary from the outside but the food that is placed on your table is incredibly fresh and made with high quality ingredients that make each bite exceptional. This family owned and operated business is a gem that you will surely enjoy. The owner and son will personally greet you and are able to personally curate a meal sampling according to your taste and help you pair wine with every dish.

Came here for the first time tonight on a date night. Everything from the service, to the atmosphere, to the food, was perfect! Cozy little spot with great food. All the staff were so attentive and so friendly! Dawn was our server and she was great! Answered all of our questions and gave great recommendations. The owner even visited every table to check in, which we thought was so nice and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back!

This is a newer Italian bistro on Park Road, and we’ve eaten there a few times. Good to make reservations, because apparently people enjoy dining there before going to a performance up the road at the Park Road Playhouse. Very delicious traditional entrees, a nice wine list and cocktails, and the front of the house provides smooth, solicitous service that is attentive, yet low-key. A nice addition to the West Hartford dining scene.
