I highly recommend Akami. I placed a large order, over $500 worth of assorted sushi, sashimi, tempura, and karage for my condo building holiday party, and our residents really enjoyed it. It was beautifully packaged and presented and was ready on time. The staff there were so friendly and accommodating, even offering to help me bring the order to my car.
This location is takeout only, but a great place for good sushi at an excellent value, either just as a meal or for parties. My only criticism, though minor, was that the assorted veggie tempura was heavy on the sweet potato and I would like to see more variety of veggies.

Was craving sushi and Googled high-rated spots near Dundas & Euclid—found this gem! It’s mostly takeout with just two bar seats inside (not the comfiest for dine-in), but the Sashimi Combo B we shared was outstanding. Incredibly fresh hamachi, bluefin tuna, toro, salmon, butterfish, and red snapper—every piece top quality and beautifully cut. Great value for the price and portions. Perfect for summer takeout runs; will be back often!

The sushi rice was extremely hard and dried out, making it impossible to eat properly. The sashimi tasted a bit fishy, and everything was bland, even the rolls and the miso soup.
What happened? Did the ownership change?
This was worse than an all-you-can-eat sushi place. It used to be one of our favorite spots, but we honestly couldn’t eat the food and our dinner was completely ruined.

Wow, blown away – been looking for a new sushi spot in the city as my goto spot in Liberty village closed down. Highly recommend, deserves the high reviews as a premium take out. Nice boxes for a date night in take out night.

Updated review: We ordered from Akami three times since the beginning of March. First two were excellent. The third one was a disappointment – unlike before, the variety for sushi was limited and imitation crab was included. The additional scallop sashimi was not as good as before either. We kept ordering from them because of the consistency in their sashimi/sushi quality but not sure about it anymore.

This is an affordable, delicious take out sushi option. We got three sushi rolls (spicy tuna, spicy salmon and crispy butterfish), miso soup and veggie tempura. The rolls were fresh and tasted great. The packaging and presentation of the rolls was beautiful! The tempura was a bit steamed by the time we arrived home, but we travelled a far distance. Overall our meal (including the opening 20% off promo) was $30 which was beyond reasonable. A great option for quick and tasty take out sushi!
