I visited this establishment tonight and had an extremely disappointing and uncomfortable experience.
I entered the bar, waited approximately 30 minutes, and attempted multiple times to order a drink. I made direct eye contact with two bartenders and clearly asked for service. I was ignored. At one point, a bartender looked directly at me and then chose to take her friend’s order instead. When I asked if she saw me waiting, her response was, “That’s my friend,” and she proceeded to serve them.
Being skipped over while others who arrived after me were served is unacceptable and unprofessional. A bar’s responsibility is to serve customers fairly and respectfully — not to prioritize friends over paying guests.
I then spoke to the manager about the situation. He was fully aware of what happened. Instead of addressing the behavior or speaking to the bartender, he appeared dismissive and unconcerned. While I was explaining what occurred, the bartender involved was smiling from behind the bar. At no point did management correct the situation or acknowledge that the behavior was inappropriate.
As the only Black woman in the establishment at the time, being repeatedly ignored while others were served made the experience feel exclusionary and uncomfortable. Whether intentional or not, that is how it came across.
I came in for a simple drink and basic service. Instead, I left feeling disrespected and disregarded. I would not recommend this place to anyone expecting professionalism or equal treatment.

Love the vibes, So good place to visit with friends and family , nice place to celebrate birthdays party, anniversary party, just note- no complimentary cakes it was charges $12 for that.

This is one of the best college bars in Rutgers Newbrunsick I like how they expanded the back they too told needed to do it’s great on Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays they always have drink specials any time you go and a good DJ they also have complementary popcorn now!

A new renovated college bar, with the best value for drinks, along with a polite and responsive staff. My favorite drinks include the green tea shots and the svedka cherry vodka and coke. Arrive around 10 for Thursday, Friday and Saturday or you’ll be waiting in line to get in

The establishment is approaching 100 years old-it opened in 1933-and to this day is consistently busy. This fact alone makes it one of the more successful bars in the United States. As you might expect, the service is very good, the bartenders are engaging and professional and the alcohol is the right temperature i.e. the beer is cold and the hard liquor is good! The music is current and good as well and the TVs are tuned in to the latest greatest sporting event. The patrons are even polite and respectful. The only food present these days is high quality popcorn but, it doesn’t take away from the experience. Olde Queens has a classic dive bar feel but it still manages to cater extremely well to the casual drinker and the experienced bar fly concurrently. In short, it’s a great bar and has proven itself as a consistently top-notch and fun experience for many many years now.

It’s unfortunate that I’ll have to say this, but the bouncer there was completely racist. He let everyone else in the bar but singled out people of color. He kept allowing others who weren’t colored to skip the line and get in and by the time he got to us he said sorry we’re closed. This was clearly the most racist encounter I’ve had by far at a bar in New Brunsick. Even some white folks noticed it and called him out and even left because of this. It’s a shame that we gotta deal with this. If I was able to give a 0 star review, I would do it a thousand times for this spot. Terrible! This spot is definitely on my NEVER REVISIT list.

A must visit!! this is a hot spot for students… it’s hopping after 10pm. on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Much like a nightclub, you can accept to see a line on those days.

A fun college bar – CHEAP drinks. We got 10 shots for $30 (granted they look like mini shots). Lots of people out and about on a Saturday night, even in the summer. It was a bit hard to find a spot for a large group to just dance and chill since people kept walking by us.
The AC was not cool enough and the music was not great. But overall would come back because who wants to spend that much money?
