Great food and great service. I ordered the satay beef, but since I don’t eat red meat, I asked if they could change it to chicken. Not only did they switch the meat, they also made it with a chicken-based satay soup — which was really nice and delicious. No extra charge either.

Friendly service and such a comforting meal after a long day of digging out from what felt like the biggest snowstorm of the century. That kind of care really matters.

Saw this pho place on our way from home and decided to try it out. The food itself tastes great – got a beef ball pho and a chicken vermicelli, as well as the fresh roll and mango smoothie.

The portion size is small given the price. I ordered a large pho and the amount of noodles would be compared to a small at any other pho place. I ordered a large to share with my toddler and was a bit disappointed with the portion given the price. The vermicelli was also pretty small for the price and my husband was still hungry after he ate it. He did appreciate the grilled meat and it was very tasty. The fresh rolls were good but there should be more dip, we scraped it all up and could’ve used maybe a spoon more (it was well made, thanks).

Honestly the food was delicious but given the price and portion, it should definitely be on par to be competitive with other pho places. More noodles for sure. Overall if we were in the area and needed a fix, we would come back. Parking would be in the residential area – or if you manage to get road parking (rare) and you’d still have to walk a bit.

They do provide a toddler high chair and service is fast.

Pho Hieu seems to be run by a couple of young adults! Which is a compliment. Very impressive.

Me and my partner ordered Pho Tai Bo Vien (rare beef and beef balls) and two ice coffee!

Pho, was absolutely fantastic. Soup tasted delicious. Portion size for a regular is good amount.

Coffee was nice, and not too sweet like most places.

Interior is a nice, and small but very cozy.

My overall experience here: 4.5/5 starts! But they deserve 5 stars

Excellent pho! We went for lunch today and we were very happy. The broth was delicious and we really like the balanced flavours.

The restaurant is clean, the owners are friendly, and the service was great. Looking forward to going back to try more of the menu.

Had dinner there a few weeks ago with two young kids. Food was very tasty and the kids enjoyed their meals. As an Asian family, we have had a lot of pho and Asian food. Food was tasty but the portions are not as large as I was expecting. We tried the spring rolls, special noodle soup, lemongrass beef rice and chicken vermicelli.

I have since ordered take out and the take out was disappointing as it was missing things that you would receive in the restaurant – for example, the herbs to go with the noodle soup. I likely wouldn’t do take out again, I would prefer to eat at the restaurant.

The restaurant is nice but doesn’t have a lot of tables so if you come at a prime time, you may need to wait for a while. It mostly has tables for groups of 4.

I visited Pho Hieu for lunch, excited and optimistic for a delicious Vietnamese meal. This place is a bright star on a dark street. We were greeted warmly by a friendly staff (Rachel) and seated promptly. We ordered a rare beef pho, vermicelli with spring rolls, and a side of sugar cane shrimp. The pho was fantastic, though I’d suggest a slightly thinner cut on the beef. The vermicelli was good, and the sugar cane shrimp was okay, but I wouldn’t order it again. Having this place in the neighbourhood is welcomed, and we’ll definitely be back soon.

I have had Pho in Ho Chi Minh City, and if you put that meal side by side with this one I’m not sure I could tell you which was which. Lovely local spot for people looking for a night out in East York. Looking forward to being back!
