Very Excellent Chinese Restaurant – Bristol – MapQuest
Reviews
Still the best Chinese food in the area. Ordering days in advance using the online ordering is fantastic. Glad I did because they weren’t taking orders for New Year’s very early in the evening. Happy New Year’s and thanks!

Okay, it’s been quite a while since this place has opened and I haven’t tried it yet but I’ve heard great things. First off I’m loving what they are doing to the restaurant. The seating area is expanded and looks great and a separate walk-in and pick up location on the side is very convenient. I’m a local so typically I don’t go to restaurants that are THIS local and I probably wouldn’t have even gone there if I didn’t receive a takeout menu in the mail that morning, but I’m glad I did.
It was just my daughter and myself for the evening so we decided to get a small takeout dinner consisting of chicken pad thai and fried dumplings. We were both actually very pleasantly surprised to see pad thai on the menu since that’s usually not available at Chinese restaurants around here. At first the menu does appear small but it has all the staples and a few other pleasant surprises. We placed an online order through what was the easiest online ordering system I’ve seen from any restaurant to date and you can very easily complete an order from your phone. The food was ready when it said it was going to be and the line for pickup moved quickly. All the employees I could see were wearing masks.
The food was presented just about as good as it could have been for a takeout order. The pad thai was very large and came with a lemon wedge and a good pile of bean sprouts on the side. The pad thai was pretty spicy, but not overwhelming, even my 14-year-old daughter went back for seconds. Spicy, but with excellent flavor. The dumplings came with six dumplings in an order and were very good sized. Typically in dumplings or potstickers the meat is crumbly and meatball-like, but these were very meaty with almost a sausage-like consistency. They were browned really nicely but were a little chewy I suspect from the condensation in the takeout container. The dipping sauce for the dumplings was very flavorful and what you would expect.
I’ve been to just about all the asian-food restaurants in the area and I would have to agree that this is one of the better ones. What I’m especially seeing on their menu and was present in the pad thai was an improved level of food quality. Little bits of red onion, grilled tofu, bean sprouts and herbs! The only thing that I would like to see added to the menu is an option for some sort of peanut sauce with the pad thai. Even a side option would be good.
Although I’ve only had a small sampling of their menu I would have to say the pad thai is some of the best I’ve ever had and definitely the best in the area. The dumplings were excellent as well but more in line with what I’ve seen in other restaurants. Oh, and by the way, this meal was $20. Due to food quality, the ease of ordering and pickup, and the price this will be my new go to restaurant for chinese food in the area.
It was great. We got take-out: chicken fingers and spring rolls.
Folks, their spring rolls were the size some places use for egg rolls. There were three in the order. They rolls are vegetarian but you won’t miss the meat.
The chicken fingers were mostly chicken! Wicked tender with a tasty breading that didn’t hid the chicken.
We placed the order and waited. It might have been 10 minutes.
If you’re eating in, they have a section facing 4 TVs that are wired to act as one TV. You can sit in the back and still be able to tell who the quarterback is.
They are an 1:30 from our house. I might still drive up there just for the food. Can’t wait to try some of the other items.
NOTE: Parking is across the street. The handicap slot is at the crosswalk.
We ordered chicken wings, pork fried rice, shrimp spring rolls, crab Rangoon’s, and BBQ Ribs. All of this for under $45. AMAZING
The chicken wings were delicious. Crispy with a little bit of a kick. The spring rolls were actually egg rolls but still really good nonetheless. The pork fried rice was delicious I liked that it wasn’t over loaded with soy sauce and over fried like most restaurants you could still tell that it was rice. As for the ribs they were also really yummy. I personally prefer boneless but they were tender and juicy and packed full of flavor. The crab Rangoon were a little lacking only because a couple of them could have used more filling but in general the flavor of the filling was nice and cheesy. These at the moment are my # 2 Rangoon’s # 1 being in MA so one could say these are my # 1 NH Rangoon’s.
I would definitely recommend coming here and supporting this great local Chinese restaurant. #veryexcellent
