The steamed dumplings were moist and tender and so good. The grab rangoon also was some of the best I’ve had. I could tell the orange chicken was made with real orange. Very tasty.

We have lived in the Dexter area for 10 years and grateful to have this restaurant in our community! Unfortunately, we’ve noticed a degredation in the dine-in cleanliness.
Historically speaking, we’ve had a good experience during lunch and the lunch specials are a great value. As for carry out, our experience has been mixed — sometimes really good, sometimes we’re disappointed. I think it depends on who is cooking that day. For example, once we ordered vegetable fried rice, it was amazing, full of crispy fresh vegetables and a great assortment. Other times it was severely lacking with a minimal amount of peas and carrots with no crunch of freshness (like the frozen variety) — you just never know what you will get.
Yesterday we ate inside. Egg drop soup was good. Vegetable Egg Foo Young just so-so, I’ve had better in the past. Double Dragon was good and had a good assortment of fresh vegetables.
The real disappointment was the cleanliness of the bathroom and the extremely poor condition of the fish tank. There was a black ring around the toliet bowl (looks like it hadn’t been cleaned in months), sink & faucet and overall bathroom surroundings had not been tended to either. Same with the fish tank. Half the water was evaporated, was filthy greenish brown and smelled horrible. Clearly the tank hadn’t been cleaned in months, likely the filter either. Those poor fish:(
I would like to continue supporting this business and would appeal to the owners and management to put some attention into cleanliness. Thank you for your consideration.

My son ordered chicken lo-main I ordered sweet and sour chicken with egg drop soup and we shared crab Rangoon- crab Rangoon was good, soup was good both main dishes were not great his tasted like the grill and the sweet and sour sauce was the generic kind you can get at a grocery store. Service was not great either we would say thank you and she said nothing back multiple times

I grew up in the greater New York City area, where we have some of the greatest food on the planet. I will tell you that when it comes to Chinese food, this restaurant did not disappoint. The food is outstanding! The restaurant is clean and the service is good. I do need to tell you, however, that you may encounter a language barrier, so be aware of that particularly when it comes to discussing your order. This place is authentic in every way! By the way, the lunch menu is outstanding, and the prices are unbelievably affordable.

I ordered on Doordash and doordash wouldn’t pick it up. It sat there for so long, they remade the food and the owner (?) Lidong personally delivered it and we had a nice conversation over Google translate. This type of service is so rare nowadays….so thank you Lidong and Food Zone. You guys are awesome!!!

I usually do takeout from FZ and the food is a little better than average to good. However, everytime I’ve eaten in, (over 7 times) the food is terrible. I dont know why this is, but it’s always too salty. Always a disappointment when dining in. Always better with take out. So if it’s your first time, think about doing take out.

My family and I have been eating at FZ since we moved to Dexter in 2017. We’ve never eaten inside, always takeout, but the food is delicious (my son’s love it too) and if they make the very rare mistake, they make it right! They once forgot a small side of white rice and offered to deliver it or give me credit. They delivered the rice and gave me extra for the trouble. Good food, great service, amazing people!

Ordered the Mongolian beef tonight. Basically, I received a bowl onion and some unseasoned beef in a sauce.. but mostly onion. Did not taste great. Here is a photo of what you served and what everyone else’s looks like. $14.99…

My wife order takeout, when she complained about the order being wrong, the staff did not understand that she didn’t want what they gave her since it wasn’t what she wanted. They finally said they would refund her money, but not only is that charge on my card, somehow they added an additional 11.12. I will dispute the charges. Problem is the staff apparently doesn’t speak English!! We won’t be back!

We’ve been ordering from Food Zone for years. They were generally pretty reliable and the food quality was great. Now, though, that’s all changed. I ordered Almond chicken. It was absolutely horrible. It was essentially extremely salty chicken pieces that had a weird texture. The rest was a LOT of celery and ZERO almonds. I don’t know if there’s new ownership, or what. We’re over it.
