We went here for dinner and we wanted the breakfast jacks which she happily made for us. The garífuna shrimp with plantain chips was also delicious.

I stopped in here to pick up some chicken soup and watermelon juice for my sick wife. The soup was very good, thick and salty broth with lots of chicken and veggies in it, all homemade, from scratch. Watermelon juice or any fruit juices are not to be missed anywhere in Belize. You sure don’t get anything this fresh in the USA or Canada. Service wà a bit aloof, sometimes you gotta wonder if they want tourists at their restaurant. The place is pretty barebones, a couple tables outside, a couple plastic tables inside. Didn’t feel like a serious establishment to me. No feeling of being welcomed here. But the food was good.

Real Belizean food served every day as well as burgers, chicken, etc. Freshly made fruit juices. Fish is caught fresh by the owner. Bundiga is amazing. My favorite in Hopkins.

Wonderful local fare. The stewed chicken was excellent, tender with great flavor. The fish and chips were good. A dash of Marie Sharp’s made the fries pop. Very authentic local cuisine and very affordable

Since we needed to know what Garifuna cuisine is, we ventured into Innies based on some reviews online, and ordered the hudhut which was the signature dish there. Basically it’s a fried fish in a mild coconut broth. It came with mashed plantain as the side dish. We were the only customers on this slow weekday night. To us, the food was too bland to taste though. But at least we know what Garifuna food is now.

Hard for me to do a true rating since I wanted to eat some of the local food… but neither coconut nor soup is my favorite… so, probably better to those who like that. That being said, I did eat all/ most of it, so it’s not like it was bad. I did really enjoy the fry jack strips though!
