Tooley’s Tavern at the Boathouse is the spot located in Downtown Elizabeth City, North Carolina. It offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, along with a menu of delicious pub fare and a wide variety of beers and cocktails. With live music and other events, Tooley’s is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. We stay open late during Sports Events and Special Occassions.

What a pleasant surprise this place turned out to be. We were in town for an overnight visit and got hungry and stopped here. The place has a very dated look, but in a very good way. Almost feels like you’re stepping back in time. I loved it! We were greeted and seated by the owner I got the chance to talk to her for a while about the menu. She was fantastic. The wait staff was great. They have a really good selection of beer. The menu is extensive. We got wings and they were absolutely delicious. The pretzel sticks were fantastic.
Lots of seating choices.

Stopped in for lunch on Father’s Day since it was one of the few places open on Sunday. My wife and I both had wings. She had Buffalo and I had Bbq. They were delicious and so were the fries. They had a buffet for lunch too but we weren’t hungry enough to spend the $25 it cost, but it looked amazing.
Staff were all very friendly, and my wife described it as cozy.
FYI This is attached to the boathouse, which is thier venue space.

Great food! Thai Jelly Belly (pork belly) was awesome! I had the fish and chips, fish and tartar sauce were great. Not a big fan of the fries that come with it. Wife had the Mediterranean sandwich. She loved it and her fries and the seasoning on them were great (different than the fish and chips fries). Hannah did an awesome job as our server! Definitely worth stopping by, especially on a quiet Wednesday during lunch like we did.

Had an awesome experience at this spot! Hannah was absolutely fantastic—super attentive and friendly. The theme is definitely unique, but once you hear the family history behind it, it all makes sense and adds to the charm. One of the cooks even came out to check on us and shared that many of the recipes come straight from the owners’ mother and grandmother, which explains why the sauces (made in-house!) tasted so fresh and authentic. No complaints at all—except maybe for the employees casually walking around vaping. Other than that, everything was on point!

Ordered the Fish and Chips and it was amazing,. Fresh beer battered flaky fish and Parmesan fries. The Chef KeeKee did a wonderful job and came to make sure we enjoyed our lunch. Will definitely recommend.
Beer was also super cold and crisp.

I love Tooleys! The only place in town I can get a cider on draft. Their food is always great. I look forward to their lunch specials whether it’s meatloaf or mac & cheese, KeeKee knows what he’s doing in the kitchen. Best brunch around! The atmosphere is unique for Elizabeth City. No other place is decorated like it. Great place to go with friendly, attentive service, and even has Keno if you’re feeling lucky.

What a find! Went here with my wife and parents on a cold Sunday night. Had some great food and lots of TVs for football playoffs. Met the young chef and told him how good his food was. Get the soup flight. Each of the 3 were awesome!

This place was a great find! Within walking distance of our Air B&B so very conveniently located for us. We intended to go to the “Boathouse” but they seem to be the same place. Happy accident because we very much enjoyed our meal. Hannah was an awesome server and bless her for handling the majority of the restaurant by herself, they seem to very much need more staffing. Our wait was pretty long and would have been more frustrating if not for her great service and the food being amazing. We shared a Greek chicken salad, which was a perfect appetizer and tasted great, a bottle of Cabernet, and we shared the 12oz Ribeye with fried porcini mushrooms on it and au jus. Mashed potatoes and green beans. All of it was perfect and cooked exactly how we asked. The almond mix on the green beans was a tad too salty for our taste, but otherwise everything was great and we enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and pub decor. We’ll be back when we visit again!

Absolutely the best meal I’ve ever had in Elizabeth City! I come up here from Atlanta every year sometimes twice to visit my grandmother who lives up here and it’s always hard to find someplace to eat that’s not fast food, so when I discovered this place I was excited. Not only is the food the best tavern food you’ll find anywhere in America (it actually UK food quality) but the European pub atmosphere really sets the place as it has 2 levels of dinning for top comfortability. I had the pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon with peas and sweet potato souflee which was absolutely delicious top notch quality and the dessert the strawberry shortcake which was reccomended by our absolutely wonderful and beautiful waitress Savanah . Savanah herself was also absolutely amazing, attentive, gave great reccomendations, and amazing to talk to. Prices are extremely reasonable compared to anything else in Elizabeth City and they don’t have a wonderful redhead waitress like Savanah. My mom and I will be back Wednesday for that cake and see our favorite redhead waitress before we go back home. Thanks for a wonderful absolutely perfect night.
