I came in with high hopes and the genuine desire to fall in love with the pastries purveyed by this establishment.
Sadly, Mazziotti’s does not measure up to any Italian bakery anywhere in Italy. It doesn’t even measure up to Italian bakeries and pastry shops in Little Italy in New York City. It’s just American stuff with a couple of “Italianato” things thrown in. The level of quality is pretty low, and it’s just inundated with huge amounts of sugar, frosting and even the pastry in the eclairs/long johns barely differs from a hot dog bun. I asked if their buttercream was made from real butter, and they insisted that it was, but I suspect based on my years working as a pastry chef that it’s a very small proportion of the fat used to make what they call “buttercream”. It tastes completely artificial and doesn’t even have the color that comes from real butter. It tastes nothing like buttercream from a French or genuine Italian bakery. Sadly, I had high hopes with 4.6 stars on Google, but I should have known better.
If I could go back and not spend $17 here, I would most certainly do so. I should have realized after living in Europe for 6 years that I wouldn’t be finding authentic Italian pastries here. To be honest, after my years as a chef and pastry chef, I can tell you that people can taste when chefs care about the food that they prepare and serve. I can easily see that the people who prepare these baked goods do not care very much about creating great, authentic Italian, baked goods or even just good American ones.

This small quaint “mom-pop” bakery is truly a hidden gem! My normal bakery was closed and I needed a cake asap. Mazziotti Bakery definitely took care of me! Customer service was superb! Prices were more than reasonable! The cake was decorated as I requested and it was delicious!

Way better than Oakmont!! Bought a custom birthday cake and a few assortments of cookies. Best I’ve ever had ! This is the place to go ! Don’t waste your money elsewhere. And speaking of money, I felt everything was priced extremely fair !! Great people too !

We ordered a cake and cutting cake for our wedding. Carolyn couldn’t have been nicer and worked with us to get exactly what we wanted. We were looking for floral designed cupcakes and she coordinated the icing colors with fillings (peanut butter and chocolate mousse)! Everything was delicious and beautiful and we had so many compliments!

I ordered a cake for my mom’s 50th birthday, and it turned out absolutely beautiful! It tasted SO good. The butter cream icing here is my favorite! I honestly don’t think I have tasted any that are comparable to it. There is so much detail in every little thing that they serve and present here, beyond the tortes/cakes and cupcakes. I have only been here a few times recently, and I’ve been excited and impressed to be there each time. They have always been inviting; ready and happy to help. Such a nice local bakery!

I bought a toasted almond torte for my 40th birthday and it was as wonderful as I had remembered. Everyone loved it!
I ordered it on a Tuesday, as they are closed Mondays. I paid for it over the phone and picked it up Saturday monrning before the party.
One of the staff was also nice enough to help me find a vegan chocolate cake recipe she had used and really liked so I can make a cake for my brother with dairy restrictions.

I ordered a Toasted Almond Torte for a birthday and everyone loved it! I can’t wait for other occasions to try other cakes out. This was a 4 layer cake with vanilla pudding lining the inside and the frosting was delicious. I’m personally not a fan of almonds, but this was good!

Excellent service and the cake was beautiful and delicious. Somehow dense and light at the same time. This was white batter with raspberry filling. Several people at the party commented how tasty this combination was.

My mother in law got my sons 2nd birthday/our gender reveal for baby #2 here. The cake was split half chocolate half vanilla sheet cake decorated for a birthday cake outside and a layer of blue icing for the reveal in the middle. The cake was phenomenal inside and out! The icing was whipped and so perfectly sweet. The cake was moist and very tasty. My friends and family were going back for seconds. The staff was very mindful about the reveal. They used white icing the while way around the cake so that even if one of the kids stuck theor finger in the icing, there wouldn’t be an oops we can see the blue icing now . They also made sure to put a note on the cake that it was a reveal cake so that no matter who was working, they wouldn’t spill the beans. I give a 10/10 to this place and we will be getting our cakes there from here on out.
