Tried this place for the first time tonight. Liked the ambience and music, as well as the cleanliness of the restaurant. We both had fajitas. Food was good but nothing set it apart from other restaurants. The chips were thin and crispy but very greasy. We requested some not greasy and brought another basket just as greasy. Jose was good and took care of us.
My only complaints are the greasy chips and the time it took to get our check after asking twice then not knowing where to pay to leave.

The food was like most Mexican restaurants, nothing outstanding about what I ate. The chips were extra thin which I liked but very creasy. Maybe my waiter was new because he didn’t check to see how I liked my food after serving it. He didn’t check to see if my drink needed refilling and he took forever to bring the bill. When he did hand me the bill he had only put down my order. There were no prices. I asked if I was supposed to pay him, he said yes and walked off. After a few minutes he returned with an adding machine printout that showed what I owed. There are so many Mexican restaurants to choose from so I can go elsewhere when I crave a Mexican dinner.

We enjoy eating here. They have good margaritas. The food has always been pretty good. The guacamole with the tomatoes and onions had to be mixed up and didn’t have a ton of flavor, but still decent. Fajitas good. Chimichangas good. Enchiladas good. I really wish we could find a place around here that makes a good green chili, but I don’t think that will happen. Their sauces are pretty good though. Chips and salsa tasty. Reasonably priced. Priced a lot better than some of the other places around the Springfield area.

Super friendly, great food, a bit of a wait if it’s busy but absolutely worth it when you taste your food. Good portions and even better price. Will definitely be returning sometime soon.

We love El Lago. We used to go to the Branson West location, so we are thrilled the Nixa location is now open. The service is fast and the food is always delicious. Hands down, it’s our favorite Mexican restaurant. The staff are always courteous and friendly too.

El Lago aka The Lake has reopened !! Still #1 as Nixa’s best Mexican restaurant. Updated decor, food is even better in my foodie opinion. It still is Excellent all around, service is great. Chips are like Chilis, salsa is perfect blend. Food quality, pricing and portion is great.

Best Mexican food in Nixa! We are new to Nixa coming from San Antonio it’s been hard to find decent Mexican food. This place is great! Will definitely come back. Chicken fajitas and Quesadilla Fajita was delicious.

This was our 1st time eating at this restaurant. The chips and Salsa was good. The service was excellent!Sadly the food wasn’t that good. There are so many Mexican restaurants and we were hoping we had found another 1 to go to. For us though, it’s not good enough for us to go back.
