Very relax atmosphere. The people there were very friendly and the food was delicious and very fresh made to order. They don’t have food options, so what they have that day is what you get. Also, they do not serve liquor, so beer, wine and seltzers only. If you’re looking for a nice chill place with friendly service, this is it!

The small town of Bracken TX & its places of business has character & characters. When the Bracken Cafe relocated to Retama Race Track, the Bracken Store & Ice House opened its doors at this address. The new business appealed to people who enjoyed good food (Food truck) expanded dining to outdoors, added a convenient store & live entertainment. What brought me back today at 0100pm was a fund raiser for Earl Rhodes. A BBQ, bake sale, & an auction of very nice donated items. Earl is a friend of LeAn Watson Butler whom I have known from workouts & socials at the old Spectrum gym. It is a good worthy cause. Think anyone going to the ice house, to eat or be entertained would feel very comfortable doing so. Everyone I met from LeAn’s group or the store were super friendly & engaging.

My first visit here, on their 50th anniversary! Thought it was still a general store! Met “Rowdy” outside and she gave me a brief history on the place. Bought cranberry juice and Funions. It is a bar, an event space, video games, darts, pool table, live chickens outside. It reminded me of an English pub, Honkey Tonk style. Loved it! I will be back!

Cozy, friendly place with outdoor space for events. Traditional Texas “Ice House” style with wooden bar and pool tables. Popular food truck dining on weekends.

Food is okay but paying more for hype than quality . As for service it’s hit or miss but there has been times it was evident they don’t care if you come there or not. Assuming their long history & hype has given them that feeling of comfort to act that way.

Awesome neighborhood bar. Been looking for a place like this since we moved here five years ago. Don’t believe the reviews that you see about the owner manager being moody and ugly. We met Kenny and he’s an awesome person. Everybody in there treated us like regulars. Can’t wait to go back..
