This was my first time in Portland and I had heard about the phenomenal food truck culture in the city. This one was my absolute favorite of them all!

Kafta house is a “Mom & Pop” owned food truck offering middle eastern/Mediterranean cuisine. The owners are very warm people and treat their customers like family who have come over for dinner.

I had the lamb gyros with fries. The lamb meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned tastefully, as were the fries. I’ve eaten many gyros in my life, but have to say this one was my favorite.

The cardamom chai was the perfect ending to a great meal. Thank you to the owners for the most memorable dining experience during my stay in Portland! I wish this food truck existed in the city where I live. I will stop by again if I come back to Portland.

We found this Mediterranean food cart right in front of our hotel and it was great! My wifes lamb plate was packed and the hummus was smooth and smokie
And i could have ordered a second falafel gyro immediately! Or at least order a side of fresh falafel balls and pop them like popcorn shrimp!

On my trip to Portland, I tried this food truck. Food was prepared fresh after the order. Service is great and there’s seating area in front. There are other food trucks as well at this place

This is a wonderful place to eat halal food; by far the best place I’ve tried yet in USA. We had lamb and chicken gyro and both were fantastic. The food is fresh and delicious, and the portions are generous. Great food, friendly owner and staff, and hygiene is held to the highest standards. My wife is allergic to sesame (which is a key ingredient in hummus and tahini), so I told the staff about that and they all stood there making sure we get our order allergen-free. Very nice people from the owner to the chef, to the young American guy working with them. I hope them all the best.

The best beef shawarma I’ve ever had. Better than ones I’ve gotten in major cities like Lima, Buenos Aires, Rio or Mexico City. Definitely give this place a try. Prices are decent also. Really appreciated everything was rounded up a whole dollar. Made paying in cash easier

Food was incredible. I asked the man what was the best thing on the menu, he recommended #12 the lamb gyro combo and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend this place if you like authentice Mediterranean cuisine.

5 stars, what more do I say. Get the loaded fries and make sure to tip Ibraham! Times are tough, but keep the local food scene alive. Food is great, servings are large, host is friendly above and beyond. Whether you’re walking, biking, driving, or unicycling; a local or a traveler; make sure to stop by and grab a bite from a locally owned and operated eatery. Skip the corporate-run fast food, eat at Kafka!

Really good chicken gyro. The size was huge though. Gets really hard to eat the way it’s made – basically like a big open taco. Fries tasted great too – with that simple homemade taste. This is inside The Cart Blocks square. There’s some shared covered seating in the square. And ample street parking in the 1-2 blocks surrounding it.

Kafta house is a halal food stand in downtown Portland, next to a few other stands. It’s got quite a large menu with good prices and really good portion sizes. The flavors, taste and seasoning is absolutely amazing on their food though. I couldn’t believe the lamb in my gyro! The guy who runs it here too is incredibly nice. This is the perfect lunch spot or even a quick bite if you’re on the run, he made it all when I ordered in only a few minutes. Would go here everytime I come back to Portland.

I had first class meal as a food cart place. Hands down best middle eastern food card in PDX. I got the beef saj and lamb gyro (number 1 and 18) definitely worth the try!
