Chulos Tacos is a must-try! The food was absolutely amazing,fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every bite hit the spot. The staff was just as great as the food: super friendly, welcoming, and attentive. You can tell they take pride in both their service and their food. If you’re in Rockford and craving great tacos, this place won’t disappoint. I’ll definitely be back (probably sooner than I should ).

Found this place thru a family. Ive ordered a handful of times from them thru a food delivery app. The Asada dinner is amazing. Huge portions of meat. Burritos and tornado are great as well.
Just recently we visited the actual location.The salsas that are served with the chips are spicy so be careful when having some. we had the mole dobladas and taco Dorado dinner. Again, huge portions. The mole sauce was more sweat then spicy but it was very good and had a good flavor. It was filled with chicken. Chicken was fresh not like that old chicken some restaurants be filling the enchiladas with.
The tacos Dorados dinner was also good. Fresh and crunchy tacos. Rice was better then other places.. it even had some small pieces of vegetables, just like most hispanic moms make it. The beans can be a little better, they needed alittle bit more flavor but not a big deal.
Restaurant has a simple set up. Plastic chairs and plastic tables. Not a fan of the plastic table covers but not a deal breaker. Temperature inside was perfect.
Staff was extremely friendly, Had some small talk and were very nice. Parking is big enough.
Highly recommend. They also have great desserts, try a coconut “bolis” its amazing

The first time my family and I went we were given a menu with no prices. I asked for a list of pricing but were short on time and the owner took a while to bring that to us. For sake of time and hunger we went ahead and ordered two taco dinner plates and an horchata. We asked for cups of water and found out they do not offer free water, only bottled. That day we paid $32 and some change. Likely a mistake if undercharging but we were unsure
We went back today and ordered one taco dinner plate and one machete plus a large horchata($8).
The taco dinner was good but the rice and frijoles was a small portion. Tacos were a good size.
Our tab was around $55. Plus we left a proper tip even though we couldn’t get a cup of water on plates that are $19 and up. For me that’s a big deal. I’m buying a lunch for $20, I want some water to drink without having to pay for it.
The restaurant is clean, the food is good but for our family we not be going back unless there is a change in pricing and they start offering water to customers without having to pay for it. There are too many good restaurants in Rockford for us to leave a restaurant feeling like it just wasn’t worth it.
My suggestions:
-reconsider your pricing
-offer cups water to customers(standard practice, your restaurant is my first encounter with no cups of water. This isn’t a stadium game or the zoo where you should have to pay for a sip of water
-offer menus with pricing upon customers sitting down.

The food is so good here. I’ve never had any complaints or ate anything that I didn’t like. It’s really one of my favorite places to get Mexican food. The aguas frescas are delicious. They’re freshly made.

I’ve been there twice.
I asked them to make chorizo tacos for my daughter. They made them on a hand made tortillas (not pictured one) they made us feel a truly MVP visitor.

Molotes are super good! I ordered them for lunch and it comes with 5 so I thought for sure I would take leftovers but they were so tasty I finished them all. Can’t wait to come back!
