We Love Kings and I don’t want to write a review like this, especially when there aren’t many Kings left open but this one was off the mark.
I am guessing this location has a new cook, or may need to get a new cook. 4 of us ordered and 3 of us didnt finish our meals. My youngest sons order came out wrong and we where leaving when it finally came out of the kitchen. He ordered a crispy chicken sandwich. I gave him my fries so he could eat with us.
We ordered mozzarella sticks and the cheese was on the outside and the sticks were not golden brown they were dark brown. My burger was very well done, it was crumbling with burned onions. My other son’s chicken tenders were not tender, dry and hard.
We used humor on our 1hr and 15 min drive home and shared comments of possibilities of what happened in the kitchen. I know having been in food service in the past that your kitchen staff needs re training if sending our a appetizer like that was ok, and waitstaff shouldn’t serve that.
Our bill was bill would have been 100 dollars if the chicken sandwich wasn’t taken off.
My wife is a sweet people pleasing woman and in moments like this I remove myself from the closing transactions and let her talk. I am very blunt and honest and knowing I had to stop at Arby’s down the road to spend more money to feed my boys was not amusing.
BTW, the free sandwich they sent home with us was dry and burned as well
I miss having a Kings close to us, we really enjoyed it in the past but this location judging by the state of repairs on the building may be on its way out too. It’s sad.

We were SO HAPPY to find this Kings! There are only a few remaining in Pennsylvania…. it’s such a wonderful classic diner-style family restaurant !! We’ve been dining at Kings for ages … and our local Kings closed years ago … we were so upset… so finding this one was a relief.. we couldn’t wait to eat there again. As expected, the food was PERFECT.. there were some new menu items … I had the hot Turkey sandwich… my daughters had : The Impossible Burger meal … and Veggie Scramble . We of course had to have the Frownie Brownie Sundaes ( my daughter had a strawberry milkshake also .. it was perfect).. .. After dinner we grabbed a 12 pack of the brownies to go …. (They have them in a 12 pack container ). They’re delicious! Nicely decorated .. Very friendly staff … very clean.. beautiful old historic Franklin . This is such a great classic restaurant and very much a treasure… We love it here .. and can’t wait to return !

Food was cold. Asked the waitress to take back some of the food and bring us warm food. Got the same food back microwaves on a different type of plate. Sat and waited for an hour before our food came. Never saw the waitress until our food came out. The place had a total of tables in it the whole time. The food was over cooked and somehow cold. It truly was an awful experience.

Usually when I go here the food is excellent. My sister and I stopped here to get hot turkey sandwiches and french fries. We were really hungry for this particular combo of food. Well, when our “sandwiches” came there was one piece of bread they had ?toasted? under the turkey and gravy, there were plenty of slices of turkey, that didnt have any taste whatsoever and an ample amount of yellowish gravy. I cant say whether it was chicken or turkey gravy bc it didnt taste like anything. I had ordered brown gravy on the side for my fries bc I dont like chicken nor turkey gravy on them. The fries and gravy were the only things that I ate that had any flavor. They were quite delicious. Overall, we were both disappointed with our trip here this time.

We had their country fried steak.
I had mine with mashed potatoes and I was suprised when I asked for green beans.. I got fresh baby green beans

EXCELLENT grilled cheese pot roast sandwich!!! I highly recommend that everyone try it. We stumbled upon this place while on vacation & have been back once since then, and our whole family ordered it & agreed that it was great. Only problem is, that it’s 2 1/2 hours away from our house! Can’t wait to come back.

My sister didn’t finish her food so the manager picked it up and asked her if she wanted “the train or the choo choo” and raised it up like he was going to put it in her mouth. I would have liked to see him try that to a man, or with any of our husbands there. Also said weird things to 2 others at our table about leftovers. Perhaps he’d be better in a virtual position where he doesn’t interact with customers or touch the food.
