The food was so yummy, and fresh! I ordered it on DoorDash and my soup was still super hot, and everything was packaged so nicely! I got the Egg drop soup, egg rolls, and Thai tea! Thank you !!! So good seriously !

New owners, really bad… food? It’s an offense to food, calling what they sell here food. The first owners(all of them very young) used to do an amazing job with their fresh, cooked to order food, I wonder what happened,I really hope they do great with whatever venture they’re working on. I always thought their prices were low for the quality of their food and the huge portions. I wouldn’t mind paying more for real, delicious food, even if the portions were smaller, that’s how good they were. They probably sold due to burnout? Or they finally realized they had bought themselves a job? They were always busy, I could sometimes notice the tiredness on their faces, just too much work(typical food service business).
The stuff the new owners sell is absolutely nothing compared to the real So China, too bad really. Now I have to drive all the way to San Diego again, to get my Real Chinese Food fix, I’m not gonna lie though, the food there is even better than the old So China, but the old So China was good enough to not drive to San Diego, only if I really craved something they didn’t carry, I’d make the drive, but all in all, my respect to the guts(or naivety) these new owners had, to buy a turnkey restaurant that didn’t include the original recipes, and think they’re going to have the same success(at least maintaining the same amount of clientele, not precisely successful monetarily, that’s probably why the previous owners sold) with their own recipes. That’s nothing, but a recipe for disaster(no pun intended), I read other 1 star reviews that state similar opinions about the new place.
Good luck!

I got my takeout from there today. Man, I was waiting and could see the kitchen crew going non-stop, super busy. And the lady at the register was really nice and patient, letting everyone know how long the wait would be. It’s Christmas, so every place is packed—totally get why it took a bit longer. But yeah, my family loves So China’s food. It’s so good! Seriously, every single dish I got was amazing.

I’ve been going to So China for years and have to give huge kudos to the new ownership. The food is WAY better, more fresh, and the place is cleaner than it’s ever been. I have no idea what a couple of these recent reviews are talking about. This place is hands down the best takeout Chinese in Murrieta/Temecula. I felt compelled to write this review because of them. Do yourself a favor– ignore them and go here. My go-to dishes are Kung Pao Chicken with all white meat, Mongolian beef, Veggie Fried Rice, Chicken Pot Stickers, and Veggie Chow Mein. Always great, every time!

Had lunch there today it was delicious, first time at this restaurant. We had the lunch specials we had egg drop soup was so flavorful. The teriyaki chicken and the string beans chicken (ask for it Spicy) was tasty and delicious. The Chow mein, Steam rice and fried rice was fresh and very good. They have great chili oil and sweet and sour sauce. The cashier was very nice and very helpful since I told her it was our first time. We will be back thank you so much we will order and dine in again. Please get an ice machine for our drinks and ice water, but other than that very satisfying plus restroom very clean and restaurant.

So much better than P.E.! We came on a Wednesday and there was no wait. Food came out fast and hot, and I love that they serve it in to-go containers because the portions are plentiful for the cost. Probably the best take out on this end of in town. Orange chicken, Mongolian Beef and chow mein. Also ordered the cheese wontons. Everything was on point. Will definitely return.

Wow! This place is truly a hidden gem! I was in Temecula for some work and found this place for lunch.

Not only is this place affordable, but the food options are amazing. Don’t even get me started on the portions!

Definitely a well deserved 5 star. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner.

***Alright. It appears this won’t probably put the photos I took yesterday in the right order. Not quite sure, so most current starts with the receipt??*** #15 to 35. Last couple after that are old ‍♂️ ‍♂️ I don’t know.

This is the first time that I get to write a review of a place I have enjoyed over the course of many meals. I know that for many it might not make much sense that I take the time to write another review of the same place, but I am moving, and I feel it is important to acknowledge this small place that had a “small town vibe” with the simple tables it offered with a lunch special that is undisputed in value. “So China” has remained a special place in my heart within this area and I wanted to have one last great meal from these wonderful folks who work so hard. Bless you all!!

Moving right along to my usual course of photos for as delivered. As always, this was packaged well. I deliver food so trust me; this is well packaged for delivery. I started with the receipt so that you can see what I ordered. Per my normal annoyance I request “Extra Spicy” but that is not the norm for this menu option. I did not include the specific options for “Dinner B” as that is subject to change, but I do feel that the items that were provided were excellent as sides. You get your money out of the Won-ton soup. Just saying J

The “As Delivered” are the first five photos that I am sharing here. I had to open the Styrofoam container to show the deliciousness that dwelled within its walls. Captivating to your Cholesterol and yet ever so yummy! The rest is pretty much self-explanatory, but it is well sealed and packed with the value that I feel is quite fair. All food was hot as would be expected and I have no complaints.

The next few photos are pulling the lid off things. The first will be the “House Special Fried Rice” and that will be followed by the Kung Pao Chicken and then the Hot Garlic Beef. The Won-Ton soup comprises the last three photos. The first is in the container, and the other two are as I would serve it. Bottom line: You get one hell of a bargain here with this side so don’t skip it.

I have an obsession with Kung Pao Chicken and I ask for “Extra Spicy” as a custom order each time. No doubt they are tired of my requests, but they always do a great job, never ask a question, and they will without a doubt provide the same excellent service to you. So, since we have established that I have an unhealthy relationship with Kung Pao Chicken, I provided a few photos of this bliss in a dish that I relocated to a plate. Housing costs were a bit high in that plastic container so I felt Bamboo was a better option.

The Hot Garlic Beef was exceptional; perhaps some of the best that I have had in ages as I once again requested “extra spicy” on my order. If you can imagine a Peacock fluffing its feathers, this would be a dish where you just protect it and enjoy it. Excellent and Tender. Everything was just as I wanted it to be. In the case of this entree, I plated it a bit differently as I felt it deserved a different touch versus the Kung Pao. I did not see much reason to take more than the three photos.

Final Thoughts:

So China, I have loved and appreciated you through the Pandemic and well before when I came in and ate after work. When I return at some unknown time to Temecula I will indeed come dine with you again! To those in Temecula and Murrieta looking for some quality Chinese Food, these people produce some excellent meals. Never judge a restaurant by its size or location. Look instead at the wonderful food you will receive from one hell of a great small business. – Google Guide Out

Not the same as it used to be. We used to always order from So China randomly throughout the year and then always on Christmas Eve. What happened to this place? New owners, I guess? The food was different and absolutely horrible. Part of our large order included orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken. The chicken in both was heavily sauced and gross. It was like a thick gelatin coating on the chicken. What happened to including the cups of sauce to control the amount you would want? And actual sauce and not gel? We also had cheese wontons and one of them had a large plastic wrapper piece inside that I choked on. I do not recommend this place.

I’m EXTREMELY sorry and sad, I wonder what happened with the previous owners…
This “food ” is nasty fast food!! YUK!! The food and garlic wings used to be VERY GOOD!
It’s obvious that these TINY, BREADED, “garlic” wings are bought frozen and ready to fry, they’re TASTELESS/ INSIPID! even lacking salt! The only thing I could taste was a nasty oil flavor! Nothing else! The sesame chicken had a VERY bad smell! so strong! It hurt our noses! Like if we were smelling AMMONIA!!
While I was waiting for my order, I noticed a white board where they had the AUDACITY to mention that it’s new management and that they “upgraded” the recipes! Oh no!! They DOWNGRADED ‘EM! Plus! They serve less quantity at higher prices!
First clue was when the woman at the register went to the kitchen to tell them something, and rolled down the fabric they have on the door, so I couldn’t see what was going on.
Second clue was that my order came out VERY fast!!
(Obviously food not made from scratch, like the previous owners used to!)
The hot and sour soup was TASTELESS/INSIPID as well! Even the color was way off!
With what I paid today, they gave me enough food that was enough only for my self!
That kind of money used to satisfy 3 adults with GREAT FOOD and had left overs!
I wonder how long these deceitful people are gonna stay in “business”, the previous owners allowed guests to see how they were COOKING, because they WERE actually cooking!
Not tossing/heating, frozen expensive trash!
I agree with the other reviewers(long time previous regulas) who, just like me, IMMEDIATELY noticed the MEGA difference on EVERYTHING!
NAAAAASTY “food”!
We used to recommend So China to everyone we could!
Now we’ll tell everyone we can, to AVOID this place like the plague!!
I’d rather have Americanized “Chinese” food any day, than this trash! Even the buffet is WAAAY MUCH better! This place is a joke!
