First time visit husband and I . I gave the food a four because it was salty. Nice size portion and price was ok for what we ordered which was a fried seafood platter $28.00. Everything else on the menu overpriced. All soft drinks 3.95 and a refill is 1.95.
Never been to a restaurant and they charge for drink refills on soft drinks.

Ambiance is nice and customer service was good.

They charge a 18% automatic gratuity for more than 1 person on ticket which is fine for me I always leave 20% regardless but usually the gratuity is on a party of 6 or more.

Also a To Go Daquari spot across walkway with music and outdoor seating at both locations.

Nice spot probably during summer and it’s next door to Ballys Casino and hotel if you want to gamble.

The food and service was amazing! We were served by The Cassandra! So cool! She was so nice! My main dish was the Shrimp and Grits. Amazing! I also tried the Boudin Eggrolls and Gator bites! Both I thought were really good as well.

Thanks Cassandra’s!

I was in town, and my friend recommended this spot. She ordered the catfish with shrimp, and I went with the fried pork chops, greens, and candied yams. My friend said her fish and shrimp had no seasoning — meanwhile, I think my pork chops got all of it because they were extremely salty. The candied yams tasted like they came straight out of a can or were mixed with canned sweet potatoes.

The greens were okay, but they didn’t taste like fresh ones. Both my cornbread and yams were served at room temperature. My friend ordered lemonade and said it tasted like Country Time from the can. I had the sweet tea, which was actually really good.

When I got the bill, I noticed an automatic 18% gratuity added on top of 10% taxes — almost a 30% increase to the total. The restaurant itself was clean, the music was nice, and the ambiance was great, but overall, the food and prices just weren’t worth it. Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back.

i stopped in on Sunday and it was a decent spot. Food was definitely a 5/10 and I’m being generous when i say that. The greens didn’t taste fresh, and the macaroni was okay. The chicken was extremely big and it was bruised a lot on the inside. I think they need to update the menu and the inside of the establishment.

Me and my Husband went to eat at Cassandra, on this Wednesday evening after 7pm. I ordered the smothered catfish and my husband ordered the two whole catfish. Our food was good but I felt like my etouffee could have been hotter than what it was but as we continued eating our dinner. My lemonade was too sweet for my liking but I didn’t complain. I feel our server could have had better customer service and be more upbeat and nott nonchalant. So anyway I ate half of my food and took the rest to go. My husband ate all of his food nothing but crumbs left. When I say it wasn’t even 30 minutes after we left I instantly felt sick. My stomach got so hard and my body begin to get hot and the next thing you know I’m vomiting. All of it came up and after that the diarrhea. I threw my remainder leftovers in the trash. As of today my stomach still feels sour and I can’t eat anything. Cooking seafood is nothing to play with it’s a must you cook it correctly and properly. I’m not sure what made me sick the shrimp, fish, etouffee, or what. But I was fine before I came to eat dinner and left sick. This is not to bash your business in any way but I just hate that my fist experience was a bad one.

My girlfriend and I were in Shreveport for a Mardi Gra event and decided to visit Cassandra’s on the River. We were subsequently seated and waited on by Roland. A great guy who took care of us. All meals were ordered and admittedly, pretty good, with the exception of cool cornbread, no big deal. However, the experience changed once we get the bill. As you can see in the attached photo, the establishment charged us an 18% service charge. I read the receipt for an explanation of the charge, and saw that a service charge is applied to parties of, 1 person or larger. I have been charged fees before, but this was Absolutely Ridiculous! A service charge for 1 person seemed like a joke! I summoned the manager, Eddie, the Assistant Manager, and stated this was an ignorant charge! Eddie went on the defense at my statement and tried to walk away. I stated, how do you expect people to patronize your establishment when you’re nickel and diming them over a service fee for 1 person or larger?! Eddie stated, the fee has nothing to do with him and people eating at the establishment didn’t pay his bills! I said, why are you working here then? And why does the reciept states, you can speak with a manager. Eddie then walked off. The restaurant closes at 10p on the weekend. After leaving at 7:45p, I head over to Bally’s for some live music and less than 15 minutes later, I see, Eddie, the Assistant Manager, in the Celebrity Lounge. What kind of clown show are they running at Cassandra’s on the River?! SMH. Avoid this place and seek other options like Orlando’s, etc.

Oh my ! For me to leave a 5-star rating everything has to be on point. The Restaurant’s appearance, the atmosphere of the place, the staff, the price, and of course the food. I was extremely impressed with Cassandra’s on the River. This is the place if you’re looking for a gratifying experience. First time visiting , my new place to satisfy a seafood craving. Thank you so much Cassandra and staff for all that you do to serve.

I only gave 5 Stars because the server did fix the atmosphere he first set. The food is so delicious and good. We had the smothered pork chops and hamburger steak beef tips. All I can say is everything we bit into was delicious. The service is great this night
FYI. It’s better to stand in line. If you reserve, they ask for A 100 dollars Deposit!. Also 18% Gratuity! With that 18% on each ticket, you would think your deposit would go towards your food or come back to you considering the prices! Food still good

We came around 11am on a Saturday and really enjoyed ourselves. The server was an older lady with glasses and she was very accommodating and polite. The food came out fresh, hot and delicious. We sat on the bar side and it was immaculate. I love the sleek layout of this establishment. I had company in town and they were amazed with the atmosphere, service and food! They were playing 90s R&B so it was a whole vibe!

We were staying at the Casino across the street. Decided to walk over and see what they offered. And we’re sooooo happy we stayed and ate. Had fried green tomatoes and a crab cake for appetizers. I had the fried seafood platter that came with Shrimp, Oysters, catfish, and Soft Shell crab. Everything we tried was so flavorful. You really get a taste of that Louisiana seasoning! Soul food/Sea food heaven right here in Shreveport!
