Social Profile:

Da Grateful Dough is Maui’s Original Venison Pizza truck. All of our pies are built on excellence. We start with non-gmo Pollselli flour, Lupara Buffalo-milk Mozzarella and hand crushed San Marzano Tomatoes from Italy. Our vegetables are grown organically here on Maui and our meats are some of the finest in the world. Considering that our venison is wild, it is naturally rich and flavorful like all of our pizzas.

Unique and different doesn’t always translate to delicious and worth it. Was it worth a try? Yeah, because you don’t see things like “ube ricotta” very often.

While the pizza was beautiful and artistic, the floppy dough couldn’t support the massive arrangement of veggies on top. It was incredibly oily, and parts of the crust were simultaneously uncooked and burnt, making for an unpleasant combo. The pizza felt busy, crowded, and unbalanced. Top tier pizza makers, like Pizzeria Bianco, have figured out how to make pizzas shine with a handful of well-balanced ingredients. Da Grateful Dough, in contrast, is trying too hard.

Yet, at the same time, it’s almost like he isn’t trying at all. The seating area adjacent to the truck was blocked off, and it was difficult to maneuver around the ugly Prius parked front and center. The music was loud and off putting. I couldn’t tell if he sold drinks or not. And the menu was suuuuper wordy. Ain’t nobody got time for that. Again, simplicity shines, but not here at Da Grateful Dough.

Sure would’ve loved to have a place to sit while we waited for our pizza. Or a drink to sip on. Maybe he’ll learn. But based on his wild and unhinged responses to other reviewers, I have to assume he won’t.

Edit: Owner’s response highlights the inability for constructive criticism and feedback. Not surprised in the slightest. Bro needs some zen.

Truly the pinnacle of what a pizza can be!

So many creative options, and they have mastered the fusion of clean ingredients and amazing flavor.

The Benny blanco with brisket added, is one amazing pizza that I can recommend.

All of their stuff is so good, and so it just depends on what you like.

They make their own sauces and sausage, use local meats and produce, and they import a high quality Italian flour that is easy to digest.

Their pizzas are artful and generous, and the staff is super friendly! You gotta love the good old time music too, which can also be enjoyed while you gas up at Costco.

Extremely lucky to find this place open on Christmas Day! Originally wanted pizza, changed my mind and ordered the three meat plate. Best food choice ever! The chicken, pork and brisket were extremely tender and flavorful. It was not overly salty or smokey, and did not require bbq sauce. The mini garlic knots and mozzarella salad perfectly complemented the meal. Plus, it was served with rice! The young chef was delightfully polite and it shows that he takes pride in his food preparation.

Da Supreme Margherita is the best. I love how it uses local flavors, but keeps the essence of the OG Margherita Pizza. They are tucked behind all the other food trucks, but should not be missed.

So many awesome flavors in eat bite. Really a unique and great pie. They have their own table with great garden to help cool things down. But the music is TOO LOUD! Even though we knew of their location we wouldn’t go because of how obnoxious the music was when getting gas across the street. Turns out the speakers face that way so it’s actually less loud when eating but still too much. Music should be in the background and not take away from the rest of the experience.

The BEST pizza we’ve ever had! This is coming from someone who is not usually the biggest pizza fan. We actually came back a second time right before our flight home. Cooked perfectly & you can tell it is made with high quality ingredients. Don’t skip over this place!

Inception at its finest? A Canadian eating “Hawaiian” pizza (which was invented by Canadians) in Hawaii made by a Canadian living in Hawaii. There is no beginning and no end . Absolutely amazing. I’d come back to Maui just for this pizza!!! I’ve completed my life’s goal. Perfect stop on the way to the airport, just wish we could take it with us.

Not as good as before. Paid $100 for 3 burnt pizzas. Pre-ordered to pick up at a specific time and my order wasn’t ready which I understand happens sometimes but the lady at the window offered no apology and had a don’t care attitude. She was too busy talking about some issue with Waste management to another coworker, not something a customer wants to hear at a food establishment. Such a shame. On a happier note the surrounding eating area improved and is really cute despite all the bugs flying into you.

When I put this in my car I cannot even explain the joy the beautifully overwhelming smell of garlic brought me. I couldn’t even wait for it to cool down. The cheese was still so hot that it was sliding off into my mouth. It’s the perfect post Costco/errand run treat. It made the drive back to the Westside pleasant. The owners were so sweet and grateful I supported them. I’ve been recommending it to everyone.
