Let me preface this by stating there was only two to three other tables of 2 to 4 people in the restaurant with us.
The food is wonderful, but the service is lackluster. My family sat and waited forever (roughly 8 minutes) for a server to take our drink order as well as our food order. Then we waited another 13 minutes for the drinks to come out ( 2 black coffees, water, chocolate milk). We then waiting another 35 minutes for our food to come out as the table behind us who sat down after us received their food. They were out of a lot of items. So they used cheaper replacements and smaller portions, but the cost is still the same. The waitress was friendly, but so shy and timid you could barely understand a thing she said. S
So great casino, but lackluster restaurant.
We arrived at Tuklo Grill a little before 7 p.m. and were told there would be about a 35-minute wait. That wouldn’t have been too bad, except that when we walked over to the bar area, nearly all the tables there were empty — which made the wait feel unnecessary.
The restaurant itself is very aesthetically pleasing, with modern décor, stylish light fixtures, a beautiful mural, and a striking accent wall. There were a few large parties dining that evening, which may have contributed to the delay, but the seating process was frustrating. When I checked in, I specifically requested a booth and was told they were unavailable. However, as we waited, I noticed at least four booths sitting empty — and to top it off, the next group seated after us was placed in a booth.
Once we were finally seated, things started to look up. Our server, Alex, was an absolute delight — friendly, professional, and attentive. She did an amazing job and really tried to make our experience better. I ordered the salmon with cheese grits, and it was excellent. The salmon was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, and the grits were creamy and delicious. My boyfriend ordered the pork chops, which Alex described as “memorable,” and she was right — they were ginormous and cooked beautifully.
We did share our frustrations with Alex about the long wait and booth situation, and she handled it with grace. She immediately sent the manager over to speak with us. Unfortunately, that interaction made things worse. The manager was confrontational, didn’t seem to hear a single thing I said, and actually tried to argue with me. Being from the service industry myself, I found that completely unacceptable. Instead of trying to make the situation better, she only agitated it further.
Overall, Tuklo Grill has a lot going for it — it’s a beautiful space with a great server like Alex and some well-prepared dishes. But the poor management interaction, disorganized seating, and uneven service really took away from what could have been a wonderful experience.
We’ve been searching for a good breakfast spot in the area for a long time, and we finally found it here. Everything was delicious, and you can really tell they care about the quality of their food. From the freshly made biscuits to the perfectly crispy bacon, perfectly cooked eggs, and flavorful sausage gravy—it was all spot on. And the pancakes? A definite must-try!
It’s clean, great staff, great breakfast!!!
I recommend the the country Benedict but with fried eggs instead of poached…
The pancake is crispy and amazing but you only need ONE!!!
We went on a Tuesday evening so there was no wait, service was quick and very friendly. Manager came by periodically to check on us. We then ordered the chicken bacon sandwich and catfish which were both very delicious. If I stay at Choctaw landing again, I will definitely be eating here.
