Coming here the food was served quick and fresh. The seasoning was excellent. If you like Sichuan bbq and spicy. We got beef , vegetables , potato skewers. Also fried rice was good. There was a separate bowl if you wanted to add more spice to your food. Highly recommend if craving bbq Chinese style.

Hidden gem alert!!!
Obsessed with this casual BBQ spot! Every skewer is grilled to smoky perfection, and tender beef, crispy grilled veggies, even the lotus root is addictive. Friendly service, cozy vibe, zero complaints. 10/10 recommend!

Highly recommend beef skewers and stir fried noodle – these are the best in the Bay Area!! I personally like BBQ pork feet as well (they are big LOL). The service is also good and warm-hearted.

Indulged in a delightful culinary adventure at MUTANKE! Located conveniently at 39473 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA 94538, this hidden gem offers a barbecue paradise right in our neighborhood. What’s unique is that they’re open for lunch, and you can even take leftovers home! With three people, $100 barely made a dent—it’s incredibly cost-effective! Must-try dishes include the tender Grilled Lamb, flavorful Grilled Chicken Gizzards, and surprisingly delightful Grilled Squid and Squid Tentacles. The Garlic Vermicelli Scallops and Foil-Wrapped Duck Blood Vermicelli offer incredible value, with generous portions and perfect flavors. The Grilled Mushrooms are more flavorful than meat, and the Steamed Buns triumph over bread with their divine texture. Every dish, from Pork Intestines to Quail Eggs, is a hit! The owner’s hospitality is heartwarming, with complimentary treats like Sour Spare Ribs and Cold Tossed Dragon Whiskers. We even took the spare ribs home for dinner—it was a lifesaver! Lastly, despite being full, my kid devoured the Ham Fried Noodles in no time! At MUTANKE, it’s not just a meal—it’s an unforgettable culinary journey!

I’ve been enjoying the delicious BBQ at MUTANKE | Sweet Garden. Their grilled lamb and pork belly are irresistible, and the buy five get one free offer is a fantastic deal! The crispy chicken skin is a perfect snack, and the sweet corn kernels are simply delightful. The lamb skewers and lamb with skin are authentically Chinese and bring out the true flavors. Highly recommended for those who love authentic BBQ!

This is my favorite BBQ spot.

1.The ingredients are really fresh. Their squid is much fresher than other places; it’s not tough and chewy like you get elsewhere.

2.The oysters are bigger. They initially forgot our oyster order, and we waited for an hour without getting it. But they proactively gave us an extra one to make up for it. Great service recovery.

3.The food is consistently delicious. The quality is always reliable.

Brainrot YouTube videos BLARING on the TV, not spicy in the slightest. Decent ingredients, but cmon, play some music or something, don’t force me to listen to a bunch of AI voiceover of Minecraft playthroughs or whatever.

Also of note, they calculate their tips AFTER tax, AND bring the payment to you with a tip already selected. Might be them, might just be the program, but either way it’s not great. Go to Oyama BBQ in Pleasant Hill instead.

First time to try this BBQ restaurant ^^

To be honest, it is hard to find a BBQ place around noon( almost all are open at 5 pm) . So this should be a right one when you want to eat BBQ in the day time .

We were there around at 11:30am , only last one table leave , full already !

Tradition BBQ . Yummy! Special 金针菇& 鹌鹑蛋. But I wondering Chinese chives don’t like roasted…

If you’re craving authentic Chinese BBQ, MUTANKE | Sweet Garden is the spot!
Everything here tastes just like the skewers you’d find back in China — perfectly grilled, seasoned just right, and full of flavor.
The menu has a great variety, from classic lamb skewers to chicken wings, veggies, and even some fun street-style snacks. Each bite is smoky, juicy, and addictive — we kept ordering more!

The atmosphere is cozy and lively, making it a perfect place to come with friends after a long day. Service was quick and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality.

So glad to have found a place in the Bay Area that does real Chinese BBQ — this is definitely my new go-to. Highly recommend!

I came by here on a weekend.

The restaurant is modestly sized, with seating for around 30. The decor is interesting, with soft purple lighting on one side of the restaurant.

The main food is barbecued skewers. The restaurant has an online menu, where all the ordering is done. We got a total of 15 skewers, with beef, chicken, lamb, fried bread, and a few veggies.

While all the food was good, it was fairly one-dimensional, with each skewer tasting nearly the same as each other. The same spice blend was used for all the skewers we got.

The blend itself was nice – fragrant, a little spicy, and salty. However, it didn’t seem to be evenly placed, and some places were more salty than others.

Overall, it’s not bad, but definitely get some of the teriyaki or other foods to balance out the one-dimensional note of the skewers.
