We have been here over an hour!!! Before people started coming in and 4 tables now, have been served before us. Waitress had zero communication with us. This is beyond ridiculous. There is 5 of us, very simple order and one other table. Not coming here again. Where’s the walleye in these walleye tacos?

Our family visited for lunch while in Ely, and we had a wonderful experience.
I would like to specifically mention our server, Brandy. She was exceptionally attentive and patient with our large group of 13. She ensured the children’s food arrived quickly and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal.
The food was great, and everyone in our group enjoyed their dishes. We also appreciated having plenty of space at our table to mingle comfortably.
Thank you once again for the great service.

My husband and I stopped here on our honeymoon in Ely, MN. It was winter so everything is Ely is pretty dead and a lot is closed, but this place was open! We got the walleye sandwich special for $18.95 and chicken strips and fries. Fries tasted like McDonald’s but seasoning was good — we ended up asking for extra seasoning and pouring it on. Walleye was fresh, good tartar sauce, and bread was good. The beer was good and a decent price, they had lots of good beers on tap. We went to the boathouse the night before and they changed a lot there and it was not as cozy as it once had been, we recommend coming here instead if you are looking for a cozy at home feeling with a bigger beer selection.

Friday summer night at this place so naturally it was busy. No big deal though, it was just two of us and we were seated right away even though it was packed. We both ordered the ribeye. It was a true 16oz but the steaks unfortunately lacked flavor. Didn’t even taste like there was a pinch of salt. Service was friendly and great though! With it being as busy as it was, it was a bit loud. Due to the lack of flavor for a $45 dollar steak, I couldn’t give it higher than 3 stars.

We came here on New Year’s Day. Dined once before this past summer. Service was good. We wanted soup, but they had none today. One special listed was grilled cheese and soup, but the specials were erased after we ordered.
We asked for tea and mint tea was a choice two of us wanted. They had only one bag left.

This place was great. Nothing special in the outside, but the inside is a semi themed cabin style restaurant, fitting the rich canoe heritage of the area. Food was great. The fish was NOT frozen battered fish. It was fresh and prepared right there. Very good. Reminded me of growing up in the Adirondack Mountains. Highly recommend.
