Got the ground beef hard tacos definitely met my craving. The fish tacos were good. The rice and beans tasted freshly made along with the chips and salsa. Would definitely recommend.

We are very picky about our Mexican food. I am SO glad we found this place! Authentic, fresh ingredients and generous portions will delight any taste thanks to the extensively diverse menu. The service is out of this world! José took exceptional care of us and had excellent menu and drink recommendations. Get the chorizo queso or queso Fundido! You’ll thank me. We will definitely be back! Thank you for an enjoyable meal!

Best Mexican food in the area! I’m so glad we found Muchacho Alegre. From the moment we pulled into the spacious parking lot, we knew we were in for a treat. The food was top-notch—everything was fresh and flavorful. Our server did an outstanding job, always checking in and making sure we had everything we needed. The chips and salsa were a perfect start, and the queso we ordered was one of the best I’ve ever had. We also loved the option of the outdoor patio and were impressed by how clean the entire place was, including the bathrooms. We’ll definitely be back!!

This Floridian tourist and her party of four to Muchacho Alegre tonight on the recommendation of my sister-in-law. She wasn’t lying about how good the food is. We started with an order of guacamole, which I forgot to take a picture of, and which was excellent. It was chunky and had just the right amount of cilantro, etc. The 4 entries (pictured below and in order) were Carne Asado, enchiladas, grilled shrimp chimichanga and steak flautas. All four of us enjoyed our meals. The ingredients were fresh and tasty and serving sizes were ample. The prices were very reasonable. I would recommend this Mexican Restaurant to locals and tourists alike.

We really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, we left a bit underwhelmed.
On the positive side, the salsa is great, very rich and tomatoey, and unlike the typical restaurant salsa. The chips are great as well, fresh, light, and crisp. The queso is creamy and flavorful, and the street corn is delicious, our favorite of the entire meal.
Our entrees were underwhelming and lacked flavor. Like, they really need some salt and seasoning. Nicely presented, but the flavor just didn’t match the plate.
Service was not good at all, at least by our waiter. He didn’t do anything, really, and was extremely slow to servicing his tables, yet we could see him standing around and talking to a coworker and seeming to wander around aimlessly. When he did actually stop by, he was nice, but nice doesn’t cut it when you don’t do your job. The manager stopped by a couple times and was very friendly and professional. I actually had to track her down to get a drink refilled. She was the only redeeming factor during our whole visit.

In my opinion this mexican restaurant is one of the best in East Tennessee and quite frankly the best I’ve ever had. You can’t go wrong here. Their food is on point. It’s fresh and extremely flavorful. Service is fantastic and the restaurant is super clean. If you visit here ask for the hot version of the salsa as well. You will not be disappointed. This is a must stop for lunch or dinner.

I’ve eaten twice here now. Both dining experiences were wonderful. The service was polite, friendly, and fast. The ambiance is fun and festive.
The mocajete is fully loaded. I enjoyed the presidential margaritas were strong and delicious. The street corn had the right blend of thin, cotija and mayo.
I’ve included several pictures for review.

Up front let me say I knocked off one star because we had to send our cheese dip back because it was cold. I’ve never had to do that anywhere before. After that, (they heated the dip and it was fine) the meal and service were fine. The food was delicious and the serving size was large. Prices were inline with what is typical now. There was no lunch menu though. I would be willing to eat there again or recommend it.
